Why aren't people jumping all over Eli the way they are over Daunte?

Eli has thrown 5 ints in 3 games. Daunte 3 ints in 4 games.

And Eli has been sacked 9 times in three games. Daunte has been sacked 21 times in 4 games.

So thats 1.67 ints per game for Eli, and 0.75 ints per game for Daunte.

And its 3.0 sacks per game for Eli, and 5.25 sacks per game for Daunte.

Neither has turned the ball over more than he has scored TDs. But both have only won one game.

Granted Eli has got about 5 TDs against prevent defenses, but he has generally struggled for most of the season.

Why isn't there a "Burn Eli at the stake" movement in New York? But we want Culpepper to pay for our three losses with his career.

because culpepper was suppose to be our "missing link" from last year. but unfortunatly from last year we lost the offensive line link and the secondary link and people don't seem to see that.

Just a thought but maybe its because Eli Manning has 8 Touchdowns and Daunte only has 2? :sidelol:

Maybe because Manning is throwing 1 TD pass every 1.5 quarters while Culpepper is managing only 1 TD pass every 8 quarters. (Manning has 8 in three games, Culpepper has 2 in four games).

Or maybe it's that in three games Manning has led his team to 81 points and during the same time Culpepper has lead the Dolphins to a measly 39 points.

Or maybe it's that Manning looks like he is in control of his team and leading them on scoring drives while Culpepper looks completely lost and incompetent.

This is a really poor point... Manning has also faced Philly, Seattle, and Indy defences.
The fact is, is that Culpepper's lack of confidence, lack of mobility, poor decision making in terms of reads, and general sluggishness has been a huge disappointment.

Leading his team?

The Giants have gotten out to a horrible start in every game.

Eli has got nearly all of his TDs against prevent defenses.

And to say that the Giants have played better defenses. Seattle's defense looked really hot on sunday didnt they. And the Colts did an awesome job against the Jets elite group of athletes, NOT. And the Eagles gave up more points to the Texans than we did.

We've lost to 2 good defenses and one not so good one.

The truth is that NEITHER Daunte or Eli should be getting lynched at this point in the season. I made this thread not to bash Eli, but to point out that it's not all Daunte's fault. WHICH HARDLY ANY OF IT IS HIS FAULT.

I blame the coaching staff. Even if Daunte is making poor choices or taking too long, shouldnt the coaching staff have noticed this before September 7th? Like maybe during preseason or practice? You cant blame Daunte for wanting to play when the coaches are supporting the idea. And the protection issues are very concerning, as they will limit our play selection all year if they arent fixed.

If we fix our team, then the things other teams do to us will be based on what they are trying to do, not what they know they can get away with.

Looks like a boatload of excuses to me.

I think Eli has played better teams. Combined Indy/Seattle/Philly have two losses. Although the players aren't criticizing Eli they're going after Coughlin who have been accused of not getting his team prepared 3 times in his last 4 games. If the Dolphins were 1-3 and lost to three good teams I think fans would have a much different reaction to struggling vs the Titans and losing to the Bills and Texans.

because dolphins had a big hype getting C-Pep and this is a dolphins board go to a giants board maybe there is some contraversie.

The gaints gave up too much eli to the chargers .I think their is even a pick in 07 draft for them.
It takes time to develop a QB in NFL .A QB in Nfl gets into his prime in the late 20s and early 30s.
Eli manning shows brillance in middle of too much stupidity but his supporting cast is so good they win a few and put away some games.
Eli manning is NY icon thing and his last name is carrying him a bit .But chad pennington goes the way he has been going eli will be in trouble as tiki and shockey are kinda pissed.
Gaints are still building they are very young have time .

truth is, eli has a line to block for him. daunte can't get 2 seconds back into the pocket without someone beating or overpowering one of our offensive lineman
at this pace we're on the pace for the most sacks allowed in nfl history
by week 17 we had allowed just 6 more sacks then we have this year through 4 games

I don't know about you, but where I come from, 17 points is greater than 10 points, which is the amount that the Eagles allowed the Texans to score.

The criticism on Daunte comes from playing so poorly on a team with solid offensive skill position talent along with playing horrific last year before his injury. Eli is only in his second full season as a starter. Plus Eli's QB rating is above 95 while Daunte's is below 80.

Have you watched one Giant game????

Eli is playing head and shoulders better then Culpepper, stop with the stat crap.

Eli also has Tiki Barber which certainly is a boost Culpepper doesnt have.

Eli does get critisized but he is the young future of the franchise and as such is given some slack too. Dante is a vet and now leader of the team, although I think we stick with him at least 10 games or so to see what we have (if the Joey supporters feel Joey can make this a playoff team they are high), Dante still needs to prove those things.

I think a better question is why Coughlin get roasted over and over and Saban is getting off free IMO. I don't want to hear about whatever circumstances people think are involved around Saben but 2 years is time to show nice or even vast improvement in a team and we don't see it. I'm not talking doormatt to contender but dormatt to doormatt is unacceptable. Then I see the "Saban is out Cowher" thread and people giving him 10 years or whatever, good luck with that. Me, I want a Head Coach that does something for the team and not just look good in the pictures. After next year if this team doesn't improve over 9-7 and we get some week end and week out prime time players, I'll be on a Fire Saban bandwagen, damn straight.

I been thinking, maybe in my case and I suppose most of yours as well we are now faced with the reality that the last 6 games of last year were most all give-mes. Maybe I was just hopping we saw the light at the end of the tunnel but in reality we are as far back as ever, that **** hurts. Not only we suck this year but have always sucked.
