I personally think we should consider signing him to further upgrade our OLB position. Age may be a question but he is still solid...

He would only be a filler for a season or two...don't know if it would be worth bringing him in if we would have to cut one of the young guys.

I'm interested to see how Roth progresses at SSLB. He's down to 275 - still huge for the position - much quicker, understands the position better, took care of his injury. I think he'll probably be a better SSLB in '09 than Ellis. We also have JT.

Roth, from what i have read, seems to coming into his own. When a coach says this defense is becoming "old hat" for Roth, that speaks volumes about how he is absorbing it. Now he just has to tweak his technique. I am not so sure we need Greg Ellis with all of the veterans and edge rushers we have. He won't sign for cheap and thats the only way we would seek him out.
Roth is poised for a nice year...i for one can not wait to see him holding that edge.

Upgrade? How many more OLB do you want on this team. Fans are already complaining that Wake is sinking on the depth chart since aquiring JT. Ellis would only play on the Strong side as a reserve to Roth if Roth needs a breather is injured, but JT will be coming in for pass rush plays so I don't see him needing to many breathers.

Said this in the other "lets get Ellis Thread"

but I remember him wanting out of Dallas because Parcells didn't play him enough. I'm sure he won't be coming here.
