9th - I do picks later in the week, but I have to say … the Dolphins are 10-point underdogs at Pittsburgh? Wow. Has that much really changed since the Dolphins beat the Steelers 30-15 in Week 6? I get that Ben Roethlisberger injured his knee in the second quarter of that game and tried to play through it, but the Dolphins deserve a little more respect than they’re getting.

ESPN

12th - The Dolphins made the playoffs behind Jay Ajayi's powerful running. Ajayi averaged 2.52 yards per rush after contact this season, third-highest of any player with 200 rushes the past five seasons. Only Adrian Peterson in 2012 and Marshawn Lynch in 2014 averaged more. That isn't bad company.

CBS Sports

10th - They head to Pittsburgh for a wild-card game. They are playing with house money now.

Fox Sports

10th - The Dolphins and Adam Gase had a great year in 2016, going from mediocre in 2015 to playoff team this season. There are high hopes for 2017 with Ryan Tannehill fully healthy and Jay Ajayi looking like a top back in the league. Unfortunately, this just isn’t their year, despite their torrid run to close out the season.

I concur.... We do not have a playoff caliber defense. A backup QB who is not a running threat like Tannehill will need the help of a good defense in the playoffs mostly in rough weather.

****Correction about not having a playoff caliber defense... We DO NOT have a defense at all.

total disrespect

espn power rankings. i hope gase shows this to the team. how is a non playoff team with a worse record ranked higher than a playoff team with a better record?? plus a 9-7 playoff team thats lost 3 in a row is ranked higher than us.

[h=2]10. Detroit Lions[/h]2016 record: 9-7
Week 17 ranking: 10

Constantly having to fight to come back and win games is not a sustainable strategy, and even though the Lions made the playoffs, they are finding that out the hard way. The Lions lost three straight to close the season and had zero offensive plays with a lead in the second half of any of those losses.
i
[h=2]11. Denver Broncos[/h]2016 record: 9-7
Week 17 ranking: 14

The Broncos missed the playoffs, but they did so with a winning record in a division with two 12-win teams. The defense is still great (fourth-fewest points per game allowed this season at 18.6) and should draw some strong head-coaching candidates to replace Gary Kubiak.

Dont feel bad. Just watched dolphins 73 season from nfl films. Even after going undefeated and winning Superbowl, then returning for 2nd one we were not favored to win. Adversity is our key to success. Underdogs have more fight!!

Too many people get their panties in a bunch over what the talking heads think of their team.

Just win baby!

Yeah yahoo!! I'm so excited to sit there smirking as the announcers shout out "and the MIAMI DOLPHINS have come into Pittsburgh and knocked off the Pittsburgh Steelers!"

ESPN with the lowest power ranking for the Dolphins is shocking. I mean, next thing you know they'll move their entire operation to some nowhere town in Connecticut in the heart of Patriots fanville and employ a bunch of ex-NFL-playing concussion victims who are told by their handlers that anything other than sucking Tom Brady's **** will get you lambasted by the Stephen A. Smiths on their staff.

This team just keeps losing players but winning games. That's what you want to see out of a sustainable culture. Is it our year? Probably not. Did the Fins deserve to be a top 10 team on ranking like this - you know they did. If they are close in the 4th quarter you know the other team is worried. Lets just hope Tannehill comes back healthy this week, we get a win, and move up those power rankings another time.

and yet we still get some cool info from the post....

That is one heck of a stat - a meaningful statistic if there ever was one, and is exactly what you'd expect watching the guy run like a real life Taz.
