and the good start this year. The majority of the fans on this board can see the potential development and growth of this team. Sure, we have some flaws and there are plays being left out there, but we are competitive and still winning despite those blemishes.

Regardless of where this season leads (playoffs, SB berth or 8-8 season) we must stop the coaching carousal. We have a coach that has a vision and method to his madness. Certainly he has made some questionable decisions but there is a palpable confidence and growth to this team. Let's enjoy the construction of a playoff franchise for years to come. The good ole days.

Looks like Gase is picking up right after the 2016 season with his guy. 2017 was just something horrible. The team focus is clearly there, and our O and D are playing to win, not just show up. Just my opinion, but I'm happy with what the Fins are giving us.

As long as the health of the team holds up, we should in the wildcard hunt come late December. Injuries are always the great equalizer.

Gase is the reason I became a Dolphins fan.

I started following him when he was the OC in Chicago. I was going to follow him wherever he became a Head Coach. I suspected it was going to be Miami when he left his last interview for two reasons:

1) John Fox had given him a very good piece of advise for selecting an organization to work for - he said to look for a team with good ownership. Everything I read about Ross, up to when Gase was hired, indicated an interested owner who had good skills in selecting and developing leadership in his companies. I'm sure this was part of the reason Ross made Gase an offer.

I still would like to know what Gase presented to Ross, in terms of his vision for the team and how he intended to get those results. I am as sure as I can be it related to the business (how to deal with all the personnel he had to work with) side of football as well as the coaching side and some kind of "project development chart" identifying keystones in the development of the team

2) Ryan Tannehill. He is the type of QB that Gase has done well with in the past, in terms of mental & physical toughness and above all, commitment. Tannehill was clearly committed to the game of football, even under adverse situations. It wasn't until I got on to the Miami boards that I found out how the previous Miami coaching had limited his growth as opposed to contributing to it.

Anyway, I'm happy to be here getting to see firsthand the development of what I believe will be a football dynasty under Ross & Gase. I expect to see young players come in and develop into outstanding players over time; coaches to come in and develop and move on to become head coaches in other organizations and above everything else, a football team that is competitive in nature and a joy to watch on the field.

One thing I appreciate about Gase is that his team wins close games. In his first season I assumed it was just luck, but after pulling 6 wins out of his ass with Jay Cutler's corpse at QB, I'm beginning to give him the benefit of the doubt. It would be nice to put teams away decisively... but this is certainly better than losing every close game like we did for a decade prior to him coming here.

I truly believe the only team in the league built close to us on offense are the EAGLES. We have to many options to cover. Now if the coaching staff can keep them focused we will make waves.

I'm happy to be 2-0. We have plenty of work to do but every other team does too. We need to stop wasting chances on offense and we need to score more.
On defense we're doing well but we need to stop missing so many tackles.
The talent is there and we just need to put it all together and learn to put teams away when we have the chance.
We can't let teams hang around cause it will cost us a game at some point.
Can't wait for Sunday!!

U the best Ray R. Happy national cheeseburger day, get to a Red Robin to celebrate 2-0, I know I will!

Was so excited for 2017 until RT went down! At that point, I wasn't very hopeful for much, and that was before the universe decided to wipe the floor with us. I approached this offseason with cautious optimism but not really knowing what to expect. The first team offense gave me a glimmer of hope in their time of preseason, but man after these two wins and flying high with Gase!

I will say I cringe on every bubble screen too, but at least this year we seem to be at least getting +yrd avg instead of getting creamed behind the line.

Phenomenal post, Ray. Great story. I didn't know you were a relatively new Dolphin fan.

I defend Gase all the time, he's young, has a vision for the team, drafts well and has a ton of guts.

I appreciate Ray, because he's level headed and he is a good contributor to the board, but I still think it's insane that anyone would willingly decide "Hey, I am going to become a Miami Dolphins fan!"

Man, glutton for punishment.

Clearly, I picked the right team, although I didn't know it at the time.
