Gus sucks.....

How long is going to take for Saban to realize that? It doesn't take a scientist to figure it out.I don't care how much Saban thinks is the oline because this guy can't hit an open receiver if his live depended on it.

Sage first throw and is a td.....Is time to see what Sage can do....

During Sage's only start last season he hit Chambers on the first play of the game for a 76yd td. His stats for the rest of the game were: 15 for 37 for 188 yards / 0 td's 3 ints. I wouldn't read too much into one pass. I would like to see Gus benched too but I dont think Sage is the answer.

He played one of the best defense that year and not to mention it was his first start EVER...

What do you expect?

You can't analyze a QB first career start by his stats.I tell you what:

I saw more from Sage in that one start to think this guy actually has a future.

And IIII wouldnt read too much into throwing interceptions against the Ravens..... they shut out Peyton Manning for a whole half and for most of the game. So that isnt fair either...

Really, what did you see? I liked that first play but the rest of his game was a mess. Dont make excuses for the team he played against or that it was his first start. Sage is a veteran and needs to be able to play well against any team anytime. If he plays and fails to do much better than Frerotte, you guys will want to crucify him too. Believe me, if Sage was better than Frerotte, he would be starting. Saban plays the best players. I dont see how putting in another less than average qb will solve problems anyhow. We need to fix our oline and rely on the only guy on offense who continues to play well, Ronnie Brown.

DO a search and read the comments made by several knowledgeable fan who thought the samething.

How do you know what you have if you giving a chance? No qb usually come in a lights it up in his first or even first year.

I wouldn't mind giving Sage a shot. I'm just afraid that the result will be the same if we keep calling plays like we have done so far.

This team has to be built. not just assembled. We layed the Foundation (ronnie Brown) soon we'll put up the walls (the offensive line) I think we need 1 more receiver to put over top of it all for the roof, and we'll get our Carpenter in the draft (our next QB)

While he may not have a future, he has shown that it giving him a chance would not result in us looking any worse than we already are. Give Sage a shot, maybe he suprises and develops. We already see that Frernot is not any diff that the frernot of Cinci, Detroit and Wash. I didnt mention Denver or Minn because he was a clear backup that was actually the backup those 2 places.

Yeah but then it is a no harm no foul kinda thing. If he does better then we win. Sage has some accuracy deep. He doesnt hurt us, but could help us.

I don't see how he could hurt us any worse.

Yeah, your concept is sound, but it hurts to watch !:(

Nah...I just wanted your opinion because you claimed that you saw a lot of good things from that performance. I wouldnt mind seeing Sage start, I just dont think the results will be good enough and then more people start second guessing Saban. Dolfans arent exactly known for their patience, at least not at FH. We also dont want another year of the qb shuffle.

you can start Sage, sure, I'd like to see that, unfortunately, I dont really think he does any better.

There's a reason why he hasn't had a chance to start with 3 coaches now. Remember, his name was even mentioned in the QB competition earlier this year....why? Probably because Nick can see that most likely, he's not the answer.

edit....not only that, but he was allowed to leave, and had no offers to be a backup or anything like that, so he came back to the Phins, and they gave him a charity signing at the min salary for a year.

I'd like to see Sage as well, but I'm much more interested in seeing Cleo by the end of the year.
