I was very high on him before the draft, then he went undrafted and I wanted to get him. Now that he has been released by the Cardinals hopefully we can sign him.

Here is his scouting report.

Projection 2nd-3rd

A big, strong, physical safety who loves to throw his body around and inflict hard hits. Has good speed but his frame probably could carry another 15 pounds if a team wanted to move him to linebacker. Staying at safety, he will be an intimidating presence in the secondary and a physical presence against the run. Does not always play well in coverage, but is the ideal eighth man in the box in run support.

There has to be something wrong with the kid.

And to think people wanted us to use a 2nd-3rd rd pick on the guy. HA!

Sounds like our scouting dept got this one right.

With the shape our secondary is in I guess its worth a taking a look at everybody. But I can't get too excited about a guy who went undrafted and then wasn't able to make it on a team that isn't exactly known for its defensive prowess. Evidently there is something lacking in the young man's abilities.

Im sure theres still a handful of fans that want to pick him up, and hate Saban for passing on him.

Sounds a lot like what we've got now in Tebucky Jones from a coverage standpoint.

We need safeties who can play the run and the pass effectively. My hope is that Schulters replaces the weakest link at safety (Jones or Bell).

If the CARDINALS cut him, I dont think we want him.

Ahhh playboy....i wish we had Arizona's secondary.....You might need to go look at their depth chart or maybe watch for some of their highlights.

Michigan safeties are usually big enough to turn into LBs (like what Indy did with Cato June and what the Wolverines have been doing with Prescot Burgess the last 3 years). Shazor was too small to move to LB, and too slow to stay at SS. Add that to the fact that he was still raw in coverage. He should've stayed in school.
