I am still very interested in this guy...he is currently on the Cardinal PS. For a SS he seemingly has superior physical tools (6'4" and 231). I was shocked when he wasn't drafted. And am shocked over and over again each time a safety goes down and this guy gets passed over. I think of him again each time I watch Cato June tear it up for Indy (any Michigan fans on this board?).

I know the book on him coming out of the combine was that he was slow. (4.6 or there abouts) still he didn't seem to play slow in all of those big games at Ann Arbor. I thought maybe he had a bad day at the combine. I can't help but wonder if there is something else preventing him from getting a chance...he was a great SS in college. If nothing else you would think he could be a great ST player.

Thoughts? Insight?

If he was any good, he would be playing for the Cards now.
...or with someone better who could even use him and hide his flaws with the superior talent they have elsewhere on defense.

He pretty slow, that is what is killing him. With his size he is too big and slow for Safety spot and yet has size for LB but again too slow. His best spot might be on DL but there he is too small.

i actually got a chance to watch shazor a few games, and i thought he was gonna be a big time college safety. i would like to see us pick him up and give him a try

Hey, It doesnt hurt to give the guy a shot. I remember watching him last year and thought to myself that he was going to be a beast in the NFL. The guy can get his speed up a little bit, and maybe in a few years can be a solid player for an NFL team. Zach Thomas is very slow, but look at him. Granted he is playing MLB, he has the instincts, Shazor could develop these kinds of instincts as he gets older. If for nothing else, he could be a good special teams player

As a Michigan Fan I loved the guy he always made the big hit and was in on tackles. He is great at stopping the run but may be a little suspect in pass coverage in the NFL

with that size, he should be a TE.
