NFL Teams Benefiting Most
Houston Texans -- First Overall Selection

Reggie Bush's decision to turn pro takes the pressure off Houston's front office and gives fans hope for the future -- assuming, of course, the Texans take Bush with this pick.

New Orleans Saints -- Second Overall Selection
Matt Leinart seems like the perfect fit as the future franchise quarterback for the Saints. If that's the case, Leinart's decision to stay last year, coupled with Bush's decision to leave this year, created this good fortune for an organization notorious for its misfortune.
New York Jets -- Fourth Overall Selection
If Bush and/or Vince Young elected to stay in school for one more year, the Jets likely would be looking to trade this pick. Instead, the Jets can simply sit tight at No. 4 and wait for their future franchise quarterback (Leinart or Young) or a cornerstone left tackle (Virginia's D'Brickashaw Ferguson).
Miami Dolphins -- Pick No. 16
With USC junior OT Winston Justice entering the 2006 draft, Miami now has a chance to land its franchise left tackle without being forced to package picks to trade up. Denver Broncos -- Picks Nos. 22 (from Washington) and TBD (No. 29, 30, 31 or 32)
The Broncos are currently the only team with two first-round picks in this year's draft. The addition of 48 underclassmen to the talent pool significantly increases their odds of upgrading their roster.

From espn insider didnt know if anyone posted it.

I thought Justice was a RT?

Justice was the right tackle, but he protetcted the blind side of the quarterback, which tends to be a left tackle in the NFL.

Yeah, he was because Leinert was a Left Handed QB and was protecting his blind side, however, more QB's being Right Handed, he'll be switched to LT in the NFL... and before it's asked, no, he will not have any problem transitioning from right to left tackle.. at times he did play left tackle and was just as dominant..

i have no argument if we pick winston at 16. this pick not only gives us better protection in pass as well as push for ronnie, but it will also allow mcmike more opportunities to run routes and not have to stay back and block to help, which he did a lot of this past season. helps our offense immensely. young qbs can develop much faster as well, behind a solid o-line. see david carr compared to big ben...

Why go O-line so early? This draft is stacked with lineman. Wait till the second or even find a steal in the third.

If we are going to take a big hog first let's take Marcus McNeil...he is a beast......I still want a QB first. :shakeno:

Justice is the only O-lineman I would take with our 1st pick so if he is available and Saban thinks he is the BPA then I would love to get him.

Or D'Brick if he was still there...

He never played a snap in a game at LT. He would have switched to LT after his freshman year when Jacob Rogers graduated but he was suspended for the year. Carroll did say that If he had remained at USC he was going to be switched to LT so that he would face the better pass rushers & make push for the Outland Trophy.

This is my worry about Justice. At RT, he probably never saw the defenses best DE's on a consistant basis.

Mu concern of Justice is his injury history and checkered path to finally being a great player (that he is now at the college level). With Justice, I still think he'd be our best OL if drafted from day one....But even if Carey gets moved back to his college position of LT we'd have a pretty good set of tackles to build on...not to mention the ability to dump Big Mac's salary if needed after the draft...

sure he did. When teams faced USC, they would switch their ends so that the better end would be comming in from the QBs blind side. Lots of teams switch ends like that.

I don't believe Saban drafts a high OL as he's in the belief that you can get good linemen later. Only exception to this rule might be Max as this guy's a beast and has future all-pro all over him and would go high in the draft if guards ever got taken high.
