Anyone get insider, that could post the meat of the article?

I am on the Brees bandwagon, especially over Dante. Just curious what is meant by all this.

Thanks.

I read the article. It does a purely numbers analysis comparing Brees against Frerotte/Rosenfels numbers from 2005. His statistical conclusion is Brees is only a very minimal upgrade over what Gus and Sage produced in '05 and the high contract Brees will demand is not worth a minimal upgrade.

His analysis is through but it factors only 'math' and doesn't include anything about the intangibles that a good QB brings to a team and an offense.

I am personally intrigued about Brees but these recent stories of him possibly being out for all or a good chunk of the '06 season really scare me. For the kind of money he's going to get paid, he needs to play right away and be healthy long term.

Yeah but I would look at the offensive schemes too; "Marty-ball" vs. Linehan's high powered passing game. I believe if you give Brees the ball and let him go downfield with it often he can put up big time numbers, Like that 500yd game he put up on Mich St. But, unlike Culpepper, he can also manage the game and minimize turnovers. Brees is definitely our guy.

It sure is suspicious to me how much the entire rest of the NFL wants us NOT to get Brees.

Because they know if we get him, they are all playing for second place. They are hoping we get culp pawned off on us SO BAD. Doesn't that say something?

Look at brees merged aroun 450 or higher the stats that were in the article are in my post
