Round 1 (No. 13): RB Ezekiel Elliott
School: Ohio State

Analysis: Will Elliott be available at No. 13? That’s questionable, especially with teams like the Philadelphia Eagles (No. 8), New York Giants (No. 10) andChicago Bears (No. 11) showing interest. However, this is a "Grade A" draft where the ideal scenario prevails, and having Elliott on the board for Miami would be ideal. The team will meet with Elliott on Monday and Tuesday. The Dolphins have a huge void to fill after losing leading rusher Lamar Miller to theHouston Texans in free agency. Elliott is a three-down back who would be a great fit and immediate starter in head coach Adam Gase's new offense.

Round 2 (No. 42): CB Kendall Fuller
School: Virginia Tech

Analysis: A solid case can be made that cornerback is Miami's biggest need. Not only does the team need a starter, it also could use a good nickel corner later in the draft. Fuller has the potential to fill either role and is a good value in the second round. He has good ball skills and an NFL pedigree. The Dolphins need NFL-ready draft picks capable of being Week 1 starters, and Fuller checks off those boxes. McShay also agreed that Fuller would be a good second-round pick for Miami.

Round 3 (No. 73): G Rees Odhiambo
School: Boise State

Analysis: Let's not forget the Dolphins need an upgrade at guard and better protection for quarterback Ryan Tannehill. Tannehill was sacked 45 times last season, and incumbent guards Dallas Thomas and Billy Turner haven't proven to be the long-term solution. Odhiambo has impressive size and athleticism for the next level. His biggest concern is his injury history at Boise State. But if the Dolphins feel good about Odhiambo medically, he could be a mid-round steal. Odhiambo also played offensive tackle and potentially offers flexibility there, if needed.

Your thoughts?

Fuller is a terrible fit for this defense. Walker is not prepared.

We need press guys at CB... they're going in round 1 (elite ones anyway)
We don't need injury plagued guards. I like Landon in 3rd. dude's a road grader and Gase has mentioned this is his type of guard.
I like the idea of CB round 1, LB or DE round 2, Guard round 3, RB 4th, Another CB in 5th like the LSU kid that fell. Bradburry if he's a press guy.

Elliot would be a horrible pick, even if hes there at 13th you gotta at least think one of the top CBs (Apple, Hargreaves, Alexander) has slipped

Is there any GOOD film of Apple? I only saw one 'highlight' reel youtube of him and it was very not good. I'm not sure why someone would even have put that one together unless they were trying to eliminate him from consideration. It was PI after PI and not making plays.
Apple seems to have good measurables but the last thing we need is another guy who's a 'project' (meaning, for us, probably will never be good).

Honestly, I'm glad I'm not in the war room this year. Looking at players available when we draft in round 1, I got no good answers. The CB position, coming out of college, is so hard to scout and project because of how many busts there have been at that position.
Until these guys actually get in front of NFL-caliber WRs and either make plays or get killed, you just don't know. A big part of it is being able to be 'football smart'. Some smart people have not been smart on the field because the game moves so fast and they just weren't able to process info fast enough to make good decisions. It's where instincts meet with film study. Some players are just headless chickens when the bullets are flying.
I was into Conklin last week but the scouting report 'Weaknesses' have spooked me a little bit. I think it said he didn't move well in space. Hmm. That's not a good thing for a guy we'd want to be able to start out at guard and have him be able to slide to tackle depending on situation and injury.
Again. This is a tough draft.

I wouldn't take Fuller, yet I wouldn't at all say he couldn't help in our secondary.

Don't think any of the 3 guys will still be on the board when we pick.especially Elliot!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I personally think it will be DE in round one.

Elliot wouldn't be a horrible pick, but he certainly doesn't strike me as a Todd Gurley type of impact running back.

For me, a home run for round one and two would be William Jackson and Joshua Garnett. Garnett is a freaking monster at guard, and Jackson, to me, has more upside than Apple or Alexander.
