Did anyone just see that segment? It aired at 6:26 eastern time and was about the players the Patriots have lost.

David Givens, Willie McGinnest and Adam Vinatieri were all huge parts of that franchise's sucess. I love seeing them not the dominant power they once were. The power is shifting boys! MAN!!! I cannot wait for the season.

Yep, it's our turn now!!!! The Pats had there run, now it's ours for the taking!!!

Hate to rain on the parade but the Pats are not dead.

Look at what happened to them last year. They lost starters on their O-line, they had zero running game, Bruschi missed months and their secondary was torn to shreds by injury.

Yet, they still won the East.

They lost spare parts. Yes, McGinest was still making plays but the guy is aging and you can't pay players of his age big money.

Their biggest loss was at kicker.

I think Dolphin fans need to remove their anti-Patriot homer glasses (BTW, I LOATHE the Pats more then any other team.)

They added a very good young running back (Maroney) in the draft. They replaced Givens with Jackson and Caldewell. They added depth at tight end and their secondary will be healthy and better then last year.

They also have the best player in football and the best coach in football.

It's not like this is an aging team trying to hang on. Look at the ages of their core players. Most of them are just entering their prime or are firmly in their prime.

This team is not going away anytime soon (as much as I'd like them to). In fact, I still think they win the AFC East and challenge for home field throughout the playoffs.

Sorry, maybe one of the better players in the league, but Rodney the cheap shot Harrison is getting old and cannot be listed as the best player in football:wink:

Ventieri is gonna be a HUGE loss. How many games did they win on his leg alone?

And, I like our coach as much as theirs.
They are still kings till they get knocked off the hill.... but I think their time is coming.... SOON>

Completely agree with everything you said. Couldn't have word it any better.

Givens was NOT that huge of a loss. Tom Brady is actually falling in love with Chad Jackson, saying he wants to keep throwing the ball to him.

And Maroney is the best powerback from this draft class IMO.

Patriots aren't going anywhere unless Tom tears his ligament.

I'll remind you of this when the 'Phins win the East, Theory...

I honestly believe the 'Phins will overtake the Patsies this year. The Patriots are not as good as they were last year and if the 'Phins had started winning earlier in the year, they could've taken the East last year...

The Patriots have lost key players. The Patriots do still have Belichick, but Saban knows Belichick as well as anyone in the league. ...and the Patriots do still have Brady... but the 'Phins don't have second-string QB's playing dress-up any longer... We haven't matched up this well with the Pats in years...

As az mentioned, the Vinatieri loss is HUGE. The Pats no longer have the clutch kicker in the league. (Yes, the is bolded for a reason...)

The Pats' running game is unproven. Dillon may not ever get back to his full potential and Maroney may not be able to shoulder the full load in his first season... (In fact, I would say he probably won't be able to...)

A single coach and a QB do not a team make... and there are just enough question marks for the Patriots to make me believe the 'Phins will take the East. They're not going to sweep the Pats, (Wouldn't that be sweet, though...) but they will take the East... Mark my words...

correct... still the best team in the division...

but frankly, i wouldn't want them anything but at their best... how enjoyable is it to wrestle the division away because they're depleted? i'd rather beat them at their best...

They're the best until taken down but I think the Phins are way more talented from top to bottom.

QB-Pats but the Phins still really improved from 2005
RB-Dolphins Pats have better depth until 2007 ;) but Brown is better than Dillon at this point
WR-Dolphins Chambers > Branch and Booker > Jackson for now figure in Hagan Welker and Campbell and Miami has more depth as well
TE-Dolphins Though the Pats TEs aren't too shabby
OL-Push Miami has the better numbers but doesn't it always seem like Brady has forever to throw sometimes?
DL-Push Miami also has the better numbers here but also has a lot more age as well
LB-Dolphins Easy
DB-Push I think Miami has waaaay more potential than NE's secondary but until that potential is proven you know BB can turn any mash unit into a decent secondary
P-Dolphins
K-Dolphins

I mean tell me where I'm wrong I really looks scewed towards the Dolphins but I looked at it twice and that's just how I feel about it.

I am going to say the Patriots are going to be the Atlanta Braves of the AFC East....long dominant, but due for a really big fall this year. I am sorry but the Pats have just lost too many key players.....I think they will be an average team this year and will be lucky to get a Wildcard.

I watched it. I loved every minute of it. They basically were saying the power of the AFC East is moving to the Dolphins. There is nothing more I love hearing about bad news and bad moves by the Pats

One thing to keep in mind. The Pats already had tremendous losses going into last year. They won the division, but barely, and Billecek was totally taxed as far as personel was concerned, and they have really not upgraded anywhere. They have lost Givens, Andre Davis, Tim Dwight and Chrstian Fauria as targets. Caldwell and C.Jackson are NEVER going to fill all those shoes. We will see how good Brady looks without so many targets to chose from
Also, Tom Ashworth is gonna be a HUGE loss. IMO

Anyone who thinks the Pats are as good as they were last year....is trying a little to hard to get there "I'm not a homer" point accross.:shakeno:
