I bought three mags on the draft. Here are the summaries of what they said about Miami. Tell me if you want to know anything about anyone or anything else specifically.

ESPN:
Miami Dolphins Top Targets (Needs) :
1. OT (Line is improving but needs talent and youth)
2. DT (Aging)
3. CB (Three adequate CBs but could really benefit from a premier corner)
4. QB (14 TDs and 18 INTs last year from Harrington/Culpepper)
5. DE (Roth is developing but JT is 33 and not much depth behind them)
Game Plan= Miami could use an OT to protect the QB but Joe Thomas will be gone at 9 and Levi Brown is a reach. If we don’t trade up or down, they could grab CB Leon Hall or DT Alan Branch and target Michigan OT Joe Staley in the second round. Miami hasn’t selected a QB since 2001 and could grab a Troy Smith or Kevin Kolb in the middle rounds and depth in the secondary and trenches in later rounds.

Mock Draft: Kiper sees Quinn slipping to us and compares our grabbing of him later than expected to Marino slipping in the 1983 draft. He also predicts us grabbing Fresno State WR Paul Williams later on, a work in progress with great size. Ironically, Williams is compared to Chris Chambers and is labeled a great athlete but an unpolished footballer.

PFW:
Team Needs:
  • QB (17 years since a drafted QB made our team :nono: )
  • OT (Overachieving unit needs new blood)
  • DE (Besides LB/DE star Taylor, all we have is Roth)
  • RB (PFW believes Williams is gone and Ronnie needs someone to give him a breather)----which I agree he needs a compliment but a. ricky will be back and b. its not that big of a need)
  • DT (Senior citizen unit needs help)
The Hot List(who we should draft, b/c they fit our schemes):
WR Dwayne Jarrett, USC
OT Ryan Harris, Notre Dame
RB Kenny Irons, Auburn
QB Kevin Kolb, Houston
RB Garrett Wolfe, Northern Illinois
OG Mike Jones, Iowa
DE Jamaal Anderson, Arkansas
ILB Jon Abbate, Wake Forest
DE Tim Crowder, Texas
OLB Stephen Nicholas, South Florida
CB Kenny Scott, Georgia Tech
CB Fred Bennett, South Carolina

Mock Draft: Levi Brown, OT, Penn State: “Someone to protect the fragile QB on our roster”

TSN:

Needs:
  • OT
  • S
  • OLB
  • Guard
  • QB
  • CB
Outlook: The team would be wise to go after offensive linemen, even several this draft. They really tore apart last year’s draft and says that FA can not solve woes in the trenches.

Mock Draft: Round 1 = OLB Paul Posluszny, Penn State
Pompeii: Levi Brown
Dillon: Brady Quinn
Hayes: Quinn
Round 2= Josh Beekman, C, Boston College
Round 3= James Marten, OT, Boston College

Thanks for the info, got to be honest its been years since I've bought any draft mags. Since I can get it here in finheaven, thanks again.

To me though just like what Kiper said and the other draft sites I visited, we do need a LT but @ #9 Brown is a reach. Hope Mueller can wheel and deal come draft day.

There's a lot to fix!!!
But handling an objective point of view, this is the top 15 of my draft board as today.
1) OT Joe Thomas (even trading up to #5 spot)
2) QB Brady Quinn (even trading up to #6 spot)
3) WR Calvin Johnson
4) QB JaMarcus Russell
5) OT Levi Brown
6) DE Gaines Adams
7) DE Alan Branch
8) DE Amobi Okoye
9) S LaRon Landry
10) WR Ted Ginn
11) CB Leon Hall
12) RB Adrian Peterson
13) LB Jon Beason
14) DE Jamaal Anderson
15) OT Joe Staley

Although Saban's 2 year tenure ended in a nightmare, he did establish some positives:

1. You can win with older guys on your front defensive 7 so therefore I wouldn't draft any linebackers or defensive lineman. We are deep here.

2. I'd draft: offensive tackle, guard and center, quarterback, 2 wide receivers, safety and cornerback.

This assumes Ricky will be back in the fold. If not, a running back and 1 wide receiver.

wow, those guys dont realize Mueller wants to add to the team speed and WR is not a top 5 priority??? Wrong..

I believe trading down is our best option IMO. Load up on OL players in the draft and pick up stanton in the second round. Our D will last one more year, and we can then focus on D in the next draft. We need OL prospects now and can start for years to come.

you people our crazy we need to trade up with the lions and grab quinn we need a franchise qb wake up!!!!!!!!!!!!

ok here is my question . why not draft the following players and then use f/a to fill in on cb and oline ? for example why cant we draft these guys
rd 1 wr jarrett
rd 2 c kalil
rd 2b og corry hilliard
rd 3 dt ryan mcbean
rd 4 lb rufus alexander
rd 6 a rb
rd7a draft a olineman
rd 7b draft djuan woods he has good hands and we could use
jarrett , woods on the far side and chambers and hagan on the near side and and use vick as the 5th wideout and speal teams ace ?

side note i know that noboddy like d'juan because he is slow but he isnt that slow and he can really block well and is very good at running his routes.
jarrett is better then what some might think because dan fouts said he was jast as dependable as randy moss.
