On ESPN radio about 15 minutes ago the report was that Miami gave Garrett until today to choose between Dallas or Miami. The report said that he was offered the OC position from both Dallas and Miami. Obviously he chose Dallas, but it is interesting that Cameron wanted him to be the OC here.

He chose Dallas for likely the same reason Shula chose Jacksonville. They both have room to grow there. Garrett eventually becoming Dallas HC and Shula eventually becoming Jacksonvilles OC.

SHula is with Jax? since when?

They said that. With Cameron calling the plays in Miami, Garrett has more freedom and has the chance to become the Cowboy's head coach.

In one of the papers this morning (Sun-Sentinel I believe) there was a small quote saying that Mike Shula signed with the Jags to become their quarterbacks caoch.

I was bad mouthing WH earlier today for dragging his feet with Garrett, so if this report is correct, I'd like to take my foot out of my mouth and apologize.
:yeahthat:

I'm happy to hear that our front office is not inept and did make an effort to keep Garrett.
:grump:

Miami needs to reject that! Why in the heck would Miami deny Cleveland but allow Dallas to interview him as a OC. Its one thing to hire garrett as a HC but not a OC. We need him if he truly is an up and comer.

Could be that Cleveland is an AFC team, and they don't have the best track record or future in front of them. He's got a shot in Dallas, if he's ready for it. It'd be real hard to deny him a shot at Dallas, if we wanted to be known as a friendly organization where people would like to work

Just let Garrett go.....I know it sucks losing a good coach, but if someone's heart is being with another organization then let him go. I think we have the coaches we want and I am happy we have Robiskie in the fold to help our receivers.

I think due to his contract they must allow him to speak to teams who would consider him for a position considered to be a promotion. There is some talk that Jones was thinking of making him the interim head coach for next season and then go after Cowher or fisher the following season if he falters.

Its not about being friendly. Since when did friendly teams win games. I would be pissed to see Jerry jones hire Garrett as a OC when we just denied cleveland.

This is about maintaining our staff and building a winner. I could care less friendly, touchy issues. Its about the Phins and winning. We should not let him go. Screw Jerry Jones and let him find someone else. We need our people...

Well good coaches don't stay hidden for too long.... good for him either way! One door closes and another opens
