ESPN-Tim Graham discusses dolphins&Boldin

i do not see it hapenning either, he want's to much money and we dont have it to give it to him.

Hmmm
"He's not a deep threat and he's very opposite of what Ted Ginn is," Williamson said. "I'm not sure that Boldin's truly a No. 1, but he's close, and Teddy Ginn is, at best, a No. 2. He's a complementary guy who can make some big plays with all the attention Boldin receives."
If you are not sure Boldin is truly a #1, why would you give up a 1st round pick for him?

first and a 5th.. do not trade a 1st and 3rd, not worth it imo.

Boldin isn't even a prototypical no.1, he'd just complement ginn really well.

it is true, our offense would be damn near complete with boldin.

With 3 2nd round picks, we would be in good shape to draft the players we need.If there was any year we could afford to tradeit would be this one.

3 2nd round picks? When did we pick up a third 2nd round pick?

Miami is not going to trade the 25th pick for Bolden. One of two thing will happen with that pick. Miami will either trade down or pick a defensive player. So don't hold your breath.

I really don't have a problem with giving up the 25th pick for Boldin but I'm not sure we will be able to sign him to the long-term contract he is going to want. If we cannot sign him to a long-term contract, then giving up the first round pick would be an asinine thing to do.

How is he not sure Boldin is a #1? He's proven it year after year. His rookie year he tore up the NFL with Jeff Black and Josh McKown throwing him the ball for Pete's sake!

If we can get Bolin for our 25th pick I'd do it... keep him at his current salary this year and resign him at the end of the year with new money...at that time we'll be about 44 mil under the present cap. but we'll also have a lot of FA's..but we only need to sign one of our TE's, and if we decide to keep ronnie or ricky, make the move then..but Ronnie will be awefully expensive. especially if he goes for larry johnson type money..

Exactly! We are not trading the pick for Boldin and we are not using the pick on a WR, its that simple and everyone on this forum will see that in less than 2 weeks!

That scout made some insightful comments but that certainly wasn't one of them. Receivers that have 1000+ yards and 11 touchdowns aren't exactly a dime a dozen. Receivers that do it in 12 games are pro bowlers.

I don't think the Trifecta would do it. However, like the guy said if they did swing it we would have absolutely no holes on offense. Our WR core would instantly be one of the best in the league. Add to that the solidified line, Ricky and Ronnie and solid QB play and the offense is set. Possibly for years and years.

It's enticing, but I just don't think that's how these guys are going to build the team.
