Who is this guy? He has the Phins as the most overrated team, followed by the Atlanta Falcons and Dallas Cowboys. Hasty's criteria is that the Phins surprised a lot of people last year with their 11-5 record but they have a much tougher schedule this year.

So just because we have the toughest NFL schedule this makes us overrated?? :rolleyes2:

I am going to laugh when the very overrated Patriots finish behind the Phins once again. Pretty much every NFL preview magazine has the Pats going to the Superbowl.

Why do these retired NFL clowns come on ESPN and never have anything good to say about the Phins?

Probably because sometime during their mediocre career, someone on the Dolphins has embarrassed them forcing them to retire earlier than they really wanted to.

Location, Location, Location. ESPN is up in Pats country.

Also, I think everyone seems to forget that the Steelers won the Superbowl last year after going through the hardest schedule in the NFL. It can be done!

Wow, we have a tougher schedule so we're coming down to earth. What an original idea! You know, if someone wants to do some research and come up with real reasons why the Fins are overrated, I'll listen. Clearly, the experts don't look at sh.. other than the schedule and make conclusions. It's getting old already

I hate the Patroits but I still think they are thr best in the division.

Then why put yourself through it really.

Just ignore it.

You really think that what James Hasty says about the Dolphins has any negative impact on how the season will go. I don't. I think exactly the opposite. The more these guys bash the Fins the more fire it generates.

Keep the negativity coming!

This is breaking news....he along with the other 5 million supposed sports analysts feel that we surprised everyone last year! He jumped on the "I'm against the Fins" bandwagon when it passed by his house, but with all the weight on that thing it's bound to fall apart sometime

Hasty played for the jets, enough said. He was a good DB when he was playing.

that explains it..if i had a hall of fame QB making me look like i didnt deserve to play...i would have ill feelings toward that team too

Hey does anyone how to contact this clown i wanna send him an email .... We have so many hater omg its unreal...

Cowboys I'd agree are the most overrated.

Falcons got much better this offseason, and the Dolphins certainly improved.

The funny thing is, everyone says the Dolphins only won because they had an easy schedule. The Pats, Bills and Jets had the SAME exact schedule except for two games. With that easy schedule we won 11 games, so did the Patriots, the Jets won 9 and the Bills only won 7.

Now, everyone is saying the Dolphins will step back because they have a hard schedule. Well guess what? With the exception of two games, the Pats, Bills and Jets play the same exact schedule as us.

So, all the AFC East teams practically have the same schedule every year. Why is it that Miami was the only team that benefited from it last year and are the only team that will be hurt by it this year? Are people trying to say that an easy schedule helps the Dolphins but hurts the rest of the division? Are the Bills, Jets and Patriots better teams when they play tougher opponents?

It is like saying the Dolphins could beat the 49ers in 2008 but have no chance against the Colts in 2009. While the Bills have no shot against the 49ers in 2008 but will blow by the Colts in 2009. Does that make sense to you? If Miami is taking a step back because of the schedule, SO IS THE REST OF THE DIVISION. If that is indeed the case, the East could be won with 9 or 10 wins.

As for "surprising" teams, that is just insane. Yes we "surprised" the Patriots with the Wildcat in week three, but if a team like Buffalo, New York, San Francisco and KC are being surprised by the Dolphins in December that is just poor coaching. If they can't prepare for the Dolphins in three months, what says they can prepare in another 9 months?

The Dolphins were not a gimmick offense, and Tim Graham had a wonderful blog the other day proving this. Yes other teams improved during the offseason, but it isn't like the Dolphins just sat back and did nothing.

Are the Dolphins overrated? No. If anything, they are underrated.

Nublar,

I agree with you 100%. The Dolphins didn't make their schedule and they went on some impressive stretched throughout the season. All of these "experts" like to say we were a fluke but we are a better team this year than last and we are serious contenders for the division crown. The position we needed to upgrade were Secondary which we did by signing Gibril Wilson and Eric Green and drafting Vontae Davis and Sean Smith. We needed to improve our pass-rush opposite of Joey Porter and we did with Cameron Wake and one of the most prolific pass rushers to ever play the game in Jason Taylor. let's not forget that 3 seasons ago JT was Defensive Players of the Year. he was out of position in Washington. I expect 10 sacks minimum. We needed some toughness added to our Offensive Line and we did that with jake Grove and having Donald Thomas return from injury. We needed a big bodied Wide Receiver and Patrick Turner sure fits that bill; do not forget that greg Camarillo is a star waiting to happen who returns from injury. Then we got a player in Pat White that gives us the most unpredictable offense in the league. The Ravens were the only team that figured out the wild-cat and now that we have a throwing wrinkle with Pat White and the type of slash player that makes Kordell Stewart look like nate Newton. Chad Pennington has a full off-season under his belt and Ronnie has a full healthy off-season and is now completely rehabbed from the ACL injury. Ted Ginn jr. will only develop more as will Jake Long, Phillip Merling, Kendall Langford. This is a team on the upside if you ask me.
