Ethan Skolnick on Tonight's News

I'm not surprised by this. I hope it's not true, but if it is it's rather sad to see Ricky end his career like this. He had the potential to be one of the all-time greats. It looked like he was going to redeem himself, and perhaps do well enough over the next few seasons to have a HOF-caliber career after all.

With that said, Ronnie Brown is the future of the franchise. He has the potential to be even better than Ricky. If this story is true we just need to move on. Thankfully we'll be fine this time around...

This reminds me of the old saying, "Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on ME."

It's pretty amazing...isn't it? a couple of years ago we were without RW and had no hope of getting anything for him. Now, we all thought we could get a first or second rounder for him. If he did fail the test, then we should worry about him...not the team. We were lucky to get 12 more games out of him last year and I think we have a great back in RB. I'm a huge RW fan...bought his jersey and other stuff, but the guy is going to do what he wants. We are not worse off now as when he retired.

Why the hell should I worry about him? There are people in the world with real drug problems, living on the street. There are babies born addicted to crack. And I'm supposed to feel sorry for Ricky because he's not strong enough to give up smoking pot even though he's getting paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to play a sport? Please. He has nobody to blame but himself and his lack of willpower. I only care because now we won't even get a mid-round draft pick for him. Good riddance. And good luck finding a job that's going to pay him what he needs to support his kids.

OK...since it is late and I have had a couple of adult beverages, I may have not made the point I wanted. I was trying to say that the Phins are OK right now with or without RW. RW is like Freedo (sp?) right now...he is dead to me! :D

I think the article missed the whole point. and that is that he missed his drug test and not failed it. I think Skolnick needs to write another story quite frankley because he reacted just like the rest of the world.
