It's just a matter of do we as fans want to see it. While i think we're headed in the right direction and with a few more players and consistency at the coaching position we'll be a contender as soon as next year. But if you watch the games, this team has shown signs of 8-8 all year. Let me xsplain.... How many times this year have we said....... "We should have scored....." 20, 30, 40. 50 etc.... I remember saying it against the Patriots, Raiders, Chargers and Lions.... Championship contending teams take advantage of most opportunities to score points. How many points did we leave on the field in all of those games? Whether we dropped a TD pass, Missed a FG, turned the ball over in scoring position etc... We seem to leave points on the board in Every Game and against Great Defenses like we faced yesterday..... there is no way you win those games consistently doing that. Yesterday, If Tannehill hits Wallace instead of overthrowing him, if Clay holds on to that TD, if Tanny doesn't throw an INT in SCORING POSITION, if D. Thomas doesn't fumble while the offense has momentum and is on Detroit's side of the ball,

Against the Packers... if only we could have jumped on that fumble. Against the Pats.. if Sims Holds on to the perfect throw by Tannehill (we score 40plus) etc... We can do this for just about EVERY GAME we've played this year.. Until we turn those if's into did's we will continue to be mediocre. IMHO

With that being said... we still have a shot at the playoffs but with Albert out, Finnegan Hurt and the Pats, Bills, Broncos, and Ravens still left to play.... it's not looking good folks...

Plus we have the Jets 2 times. Sad to say but the Jets no matter what team they have. We struggle. I bet we don't beat Jets IN New York. This team will fold cause Philbin ain't a good coach. How can't you teach your QB in 2 years on how to throw a deep ball. Now if I was Head Coach. Tannehill will practice that 70 times a practice til he got it right. Philbin is a good man. Just not NFL material

70 times a practice with pass rush and DB's. I think they do practice alone but in the games when bullets are flying... much different.

Well, this is going to sound negative but lets take a look at the teams we beat. Jags and raiders are 2 of the worst teams in the NFL. The bears are 3 and 6 and SD is 5 and 4 like us. So that leaves the pats. Lets take a look. We got them at the right time. 1pm at home in September. They melted in the heat in the 2nd half and were not the same team they are now. But it's not all negative. We've been close with GB and Detroit, 2 teams heading to the playoffs. We just don't know how to win close games to good teams. But all those people who had high hopes were just delusional. They saw our team beat some bad teams and thought we had turned the corner.

In the past we didn't make the playoffs because we lost to bad teams. We are finally taking care of the games we should win. Dont be so quick to dismiss the SD or Pats win either. We always play the Pats tough. Its a bad match up for them.

Truth is you can nit pick wins for everybody. Lions got the packers at the right time. All they beat with a winning record was miami after that. But you cando that with any team. A win is a win. Miami willbe in the playoffs I promise you that

70 times a practice would be a great way to fatigue the associated muscles and ignore other important things. But I hear you!

Its as simple as that, huh? If a golfer misses some fairways that is just evidence he isn't practicing enough? Plus they only have limited time in practice thanks to the new CBA, if you spend all of your time practicing deep balls chances are we'll suck at everything else. Plus, isn't arm fatigue something coaches need to be aware of?

but but but but, Wallace doesn't want to practice the deep ball that much. doesn't want to put that many miles on his legs.

Seems like Wallace milks his routes. He slows down and then he gets overthrown

only if we beat buffalo this week.

i think we will, dont get me wrong, but a loss to buffalo cripples our chances dramatically. if we had already gone to new england and denver and we were 5-5, id still believe its realistic.

However, if we are 5-5 after this week and still got trips to denver and foxboro, its going to be very tough. not to mention the jets 2x, and yes i understand many ppl on here believe the jets r a joke, but i throw records out the window when these 2 teams meet, because they always play us tough.

And if we don't stop Detroit from scoring a TD on the opening drive?
If Grimes doesn't intercept in the endzone?
If Jordan doesn't deny Megatron a TD?

You're only looking at one sides 'failures'. What lost us this game were injuries and a lack of cojones in playcalling. Detroit made a lot of ballsy calls and had those few top players to execute. What lost us GB was also a lack of testicular fortitude.

We didn't roll the dice enough in a high stakes tightly contested game. As long as we continue to play the percentages with a marginal playoff caliber team, we'll probably fall short.

But every team fails to make certain plays, it's the courageous ones who prevail.

I'm not only looking at failures... What I'm doing is pointing out THIS TEAM loses to good teams. We're not a team that can leave points on the field and still beat good teams. We're not that good yet. EVERY scoring opportunity we have against good teams is magnified because we don't get them often. If the Broncos miss a scoring opportunity it's not as big a deal because they are so good that They'll have plenty more. Same with all good offensive teams.

Why do you think Detroit felt comfortable taking all of those chances????? Because they had NO RESPECT for our offense. They felt like even if they didn't get a first down.... We weren't going to score. If they were playing Denver, GB, Pats etc... They don't take as many chances.

Thank you for using logic in a world where it's all but lost.

As far as opportunities to score, I'm pretty sure I was reading earlier that we are number 1 in red zone chances. We just aren't taking advantage if those chances like we could be.
