It's interesting how people come right out of the woodwork to say "I told you so" after the Dolphins beat a good team. "Do you see progress and positives now?" was a thread in response to somebody - God forbid - criticizing Saban from midweek.

The Dolphins beat an undefeated team, which of course is a great positive. However, the game was a mess. I would like to be happy but the fact remains that this is still a 2-6 team. They are fortunate the Bears played like an 0-7 team and not the other way around. They turned the ball over six times - while the coverage was good, Grossman threw about one pass on target all day.

The defense was outstanding. The offensive line played very well, and Ronnie Brown is good. (All most people ever said was that we had to give him the ball.) But please spare me the crap about Harrington leading the greatest upset in Dolphins history (A.J. Feeley did that, for what it's worth) and Harrington's 66.7 QB rating is more of how he threw. The Dolphins only took what they were given - repeatedly - and they tried to give it back (11 penalties, two of them on fourth down leading to an automatic first).

Yes, we won a game. The team as a whole did not play that well - the defense basically carried the game, and the Bears helped by giving it away.

Go fly a kite. Nobody is talking Super Bowl here. It has been a long time since us Fins fans had a good Sunday. The Fins took advantage of the Bears mistakes. That is what you are supposed to do. It is what every team has done to the Fins so far this year.

Great win and will lift the spirits a little bit.

The turnovers were forced by us not by them

I, for one, am pretty much a realist and have been calling out Saban thus far this season. However, this is a very big win at this point in the season and hopefully, indicative of things to come. I did not get to see the game, but looking at it on Gamecast, I must say kudos to: Ronnie for popping a couple of big runs (which is why his average was up) - but this is why he must get fed the ball - eventually he will break some; The OL - no sacks allowed - against the Bears D, that's a solid effort; The Defense - particularly JT, sounds like he had a monster game; J.Allen for getting in the game and getting his first pick (how was the rest of his coverage?).

Looks like we are still have problems with special teams and the secondary continues to give up big plays - particularly Will Allen.

This win doesn't change my perspective on Saban's choices, but it is a good win and hopefully will get the Fins back on track. Gotta give credit where it is due - Good job this week Nick!!!!

I'm extremely happy with this win but what i'm more happy about is how everyone played today. The D backs played ten times better than what they usually play like and Jason Taylor flat out took over the game. 1 INT, 1TD, 1 FF, and 3 tackels. If that's not taking over a game than i don't know what is.

I'll agree with this post.

My only real complaint about this week is the penalties. With any luck it could be a sign of good things to come - not an outstanding performance, but enough to beat an undefeated team.

You hit it on the head. As great of a win as today was we were very undisciplined and had some dumb penalties. That has to be corrected if the Fins want to win more games this season because if the Bears didn't throw the game away with turnovers we might be sitting here talking about how we blew the game because of dumb penalties. Good win today but that was a glaring negative of the day and one that shouldn't be over looked and should be addressed by Saban!

I agree

Just enjoy the win, man. Now's not the time for pragmatism. This win had nothing to do with marked improvement or a sign of the right direction. It showed that some players on this team have pride they wont let go of and the football gods make sure even a team struggling hard gets a slice.

This was another one of those "Jason Taylor becomes superhuman" games that only come by once, maybe twice, a year. They are enjoyable.
