Ewers and Gordon recent draft analysis by former scout Daniel Kelly-Wow

Fair, he’s a great pick for a 6th round. It’s more questioning the use of draft resources on a 4th RB.

We spent 3rd round picks to pick Achane and Wright. We are one of the few teams with a FB, who made the Pro Bowl in 2023, played almost 30% of snaps last season, and counts almost $5M on salary cap.

Not sure where the opportunities for snaps are coming unless there’s an injury.
RB is the most fungible starting position in football. I think all teams want to have 4 who know the offense and can be plugged in at any given time. The Dolphins' offense is relatively complicated, and they can't just bring someone in off the street if there are injuries to RB1 or RB2.

That is a YUUUUGE stretch. Might be the hound would have caught the rabbit if he hadn't stopped to schit. The chances of either being better at their craft than Kenny and Jonah will be at theirs can't be more than about 1%.
I didn’t say they'd be better than those guys.....just might be better picks because of when they were drafted

Ultimately, it's one person's opinion. But I do think both have an opportunity.

Gordon probably needs to get closer to his 2023 weight. He's not going to pull away for big gains like Derrick Henry, but he may turn out to be one of the best picks in the 6th round. Definitely seems like what Miami needs, as a back who can get a yard or two on his own.

Ewers main issue is durability, but he has a lot of upside and looks like a perfect fit for Miami.

I'm no expert, but I can see how stiff Ollie Gordon is even watching his highlights. Ewers fell to the 7th round for a reason, I'm just hoping he'll be a more capable #3 than Skylar, which shouldn't be too hard after how bad he looked the last couple of seasons.
Watch 2023 games where he was about 210

Gaining twenty lbs cost him a lotta money

To be better picks, they'd have to turn out to be better players, regardless of where they were drafted. Considering the importance of QB, I suppose there is a chance Ewers could be more impactful than the earlier picks.

It's a conversation. The more I dig, the more I start to think that pretty much every other organization ****** up by letting Ewers fall that far. The guy played with a torn oblique last year, which is completely bonkers to me.
He also had a grade 3 sprain of his ankle reportedly. This two injuries (oblique and ankle) to me means every throw he made after the first game of season was made only with his shoulder and wrist. I don't know how the kid could do it, there must have been a lot of injections, but that only numbs the pain, doesn't return the strength of the damaged area for the throwing motion.

One thing this "scout" is good at is self promotion. Who knows about Ewers, he may turn out to be a good pick up at #7 and he could be just a camp arm who gets cut to the PS late in camp. Opinions are like ... Noses.

zero chance they cut Ewers. There's nothing to lose by keeping him and developing him. Keep in mind Tua's only played one full season in the NFL and Wilson's on a one year deal.

It was kind of a metaphor for "if he totally sucks". I agree and even think he will surprise here. It's a system tailored to his skill set, IMO.

we can always hope. if he doesn’t work out it only cost us a 7th round pick. If he turns to be a good QB then he's a steal in the 7th round
