He isn't as talented as Zach Wilson. Ppl are very quick to forget Wilson was the SECOND OVERALL PICK IN THE DRAFT.
Ewers is the emergency QB, nothing more.

Ewers was the unanimous #1 prospect coming out of highschool and he didn't suck in college. Whoever thinks he doesn't have at least as much of a chance at being good as Wilson is at least biased.

People forget because he's played like ass. His draft position is not an argument after being tossed around the league holding clipboards.
You missed the point. Top QBs making a $100M a year means even average starters are making $50M. And backups are likely making near $10M.
If he thinks he’s a starter, he’d miss out on a years worth of major salary had he gone back to school.
Hell never be a starter in the NFL though. Let's come back to reality for one second here. The likleyhood of him beating out Wilson is minimal, on average we've seen one 6th or 7th round QB get a big contract every 25 years. Brady in the early 2000's and Purdy in 2025 or 2026.... and he's still waiting.
He's got a 1 in 100 shot of ever getting starter money.
He's still got more talent by a large margin than Ewers.
Did you watch Ewers play at Texas? Like for real, everyone of you guys with a twinkle in your eye for Ewers, never watched him play a game, im convinced of that.
He doesn’t need to beat out Wilson. Zach is likely only here for one year. I liked the addition of Wilson as well so I’m excited to have better arms than Mike White, Skylar Thompson and Tyler Huntley, none of whom possessed any arm talent.

I'm not advocating for Ewers, I'm just stating your argument doesn't hold. Dion Jordan was a 3rd overall pick. Big ****in whoop.
Okay, I get that, but there is no way anyone knows if Ewers is any better than Huntley or Mike White. Skylar, yes ill give you that, most posters on here are probably better QBs than he was.
Huntley and White were hot garbage too.
Ewers produced against big time opponents. Making the CFP semifinal two years in a row isn’t something everyone has on their resume. He won all the games he supposed to and a few extra.
There are some durability questions and he needs to work on his footwork but he’s got arm talent.
Ewers is a great fit for this offense as well.
Ewers never impressed me in college. Texas has one of the largest NIL budgets, I don't think he was impressive at all and the NFL GMs agree with me, that's why he was a 7th round pick.

Wilson has more talent but he can not play in structure . He can’t play from the pocket or in a timing offense. This signing makes me agree with you that McDaniel is lost cause. Arm talent doesn’t matter if you can only make plays off script or outsyde the pocket. Wilson is a bust. Denver didn’t even want him back. I will trust Payton on that.

As a DEVELOPMENTAL QB I'm ecstatic. He shouldn't play this year unless Tua is injured long term or both QB's ahead of him on the depth chart get injured.
