EWERS schooled by GRUDEN!!!

Hell never be a starter in the NFL though. Let's come back to reality for one second here. The likleyhood of him beating out Wilson is minimal, on average we've seen one 6th or 7th round QB get a big contract every 25 years. Brady in the early 2000's and Purdy in 2025 or 2026.... and he's still waiting.

He's got a 1 in 100 shot of ever getting starter money.

Wilson may not even be on this team this time.next year. Whereas Ewers is on rookie contract dirt cheap.

Wilson has more talent but he can not play in structure . He can’t play from the pocket or in a timing offense. This signing makes me agree with you that McDaniel is lost cause. Arm talent doesn’t matter if you can only make plays off script or outsyde the pocket. Wilson is a bust. Denver didn’t even want him back. I will trust Payton on that.
If Wilson is a bust.... so is Tua.

So let me get this straight. Tua looked awful... absolutely awful for his first two seasons until he had his only good season in 2023 but we're writing off Zach Wilson as a bust becuase he looked bad when he was 22 and 23 and in an impossible situation...... why don't we see what Wilson looks like now that he's 25 and has some reps before we call him a bust.

Apparently Wilson couldn't beat out Jarrett Stidham for QB2 in Denver. Let go of the #2 overall draft capital.
And this argument is lazy AF, no one knows who would have played in Demver had Nix gotten hurt.

Peyton and the Denver staff said Wilson was very impressive all season in practice.

Wilson came to Miami bc we have a franchise QB who can't stay healthy more than 7 games at a time and Miami gives him a better chance to play and show what he's got.

Wilson is 25, the same age as the Rookie Shough who just got drafted.

I swear everyone who's hating on Wilson is just fearful that he will turn out like Darnold and Geno and steal Tuas job.

Its fear based hate on a QB becuase so many around here worship glass Tua.

If you can't call a 2nd rounder that you picked up as an unrestricted free agent a bust, then what else would qualify?

All your opinions are based on emotion, so you assume everyone else's is too. Your infatuation with Wilson shows this.

Wilson isn't good. He may or may not beat out Ewer's as a back up, but (ir)regardless, he'll never be a starter in this league.

Lol my bad. If you can't call a 2nd OVERALL PICK that you picked up as an unrestricted free agent a bust, then what else would qualify?

Oddly enough, he'd still be a bust as a 2nd rounder.
My point is that I'm sure we all thought Darnold and Geno were Busts after they initially left NYJ.

Lol I can assure you that is not the reason why I don't care for Zach Wilson. I already know Tua isn't going to be starting for this teams 3-4 years from now. Maybe even less. Zach Wilson was just that bad when he started. He also got benched in favor for guys like Mike White and Tim Boyles in NY! Wilson has been horrendous. Sure he is talented but many are in the NFL.

Not even close.

I question anyone's intelligence who willingly leaves 7 million dollars on the table to be a 3rd string QB.

Though I agree with you that it's a bit crazy, and something to wonder about when trying to figure out what type of QB Ewers might be, what if he's tired of playing with and against College talent? What if 7 million does not mean as much to him because he is EXTREMELY confident, and knows eventually 7 million will will not even be enough to put a down payment on his services for a season when he proves himself.

Ewers might just be tired of College, and wants to start his Pro career before an injury in college stops that from happening. He had some good weapons in Texas, but in the NFL he will get the best of college, against the best defensive players in college. Maybe money is not as important to him then challenging himself, and becoming the type of QB he thinks he can be.

Maybe the man has far more integrity for the game, more interested in becoming an NFL QB for the game, for the competition, for the challenge then to make money that he believes will come once he shows the world what he can do.

`It’s nice to see that our QB room has improved. If the light comes on for Wilson and if Evers stays healthy and shows his best form, it’s a great situation to have.
