I really liked him. I defended him when in hindsight, I was seeing what I wanted to see. His last year here, he could no longer break on the ball to make a play. He could still cover ok and keep things in front of him but without the ability to make plays he doesn’t have a lot of value.

Yep. Saw a similar thing with DVP, whose light only got to shine for a short duration. They relied on physical explosion to impact the game and once the hamstrings went chronic, they didn't have the ability to distinguish themselves.
