Q: You have the floor. Anything you’d like to say to Dolphins fans who are depressed, downcast, upset or unhappy about the past three games?
A: “I would tell them that I believe in the locker room. I believe we have excellent men on this football team that representing the Dolphins is very important to them. And we’re going to work through this thing together. I’d love to ask for their loyal support, that we can fix this thing. And we will fix it. You know, in tough times you got to stick together and you got to believe in what you’re doing. You have to believe in your players, you have to believe in your staff. If you don’t have faith in one another you have no chance. We have to stick together and we have to work through this.”

thanks for the info but I have never heard one coach ever say we are not going to fix this lol

I was a liitle POed by this response. I would rather have Joe not say anything than speaking from the same script that every coach follows.

I like Joe Philbin. He seems like a really good man, who will do everything he can to turn it around. I hope for his and the team's sake he can.

He's less comfortable with the media than Nick Saban? Good lord.

Dealing with the media is just one aspect of being a head coach. This whole interview just shows what many of us are just now starting to confirm; while being a nice guy, Philbin isn't head coaching material. I bet he was really good in that role he had in Green Bay (whatever he was actually doing since he wasn't the QB coach and wasn't calling plays) but it's starting to look like stepping up into the head man position was just too much for him.

There are very few coaches who like dealing with the media, ask Belicheck, Coughlin, Tomlin all successful coaches that don't seem to care for the media and the list goes on. Also Saban struggles with the media even in college but he is stll the best college coach by far. I'm not saying he is a HOF coach but to judge him this early in his 2nd season with what he was able to do last year IMO is jumping to conclusions a little early. 2 of our 3 losses were by 3 or less points.

Just beat new England. Dont talk about how your team is because no one cares. All we all want is results. Stop writing scripts, stop talking in general. Just go out there on Sunday with the best product you can muster and kick some ass.

I like Joe Philbin. He's organized, has has goals, and he's consistent in his message. I can work with that. I'm ever so thankful we have Philbin instead of a trainwreck like they have in TB or a milquetoast like they have in Jax.
