Exciting thought I had last night about our 2nd draft selection

I was up late watching this live mock draft on ESPN last night, and in it they had Brandon Albert sliding all the way to the 20's.
Their reasoning was that while alot of people say he can play left tackle, that would be a project and you don't pick project players high, so if he gets picked in the 1st it would be to play guard.
They had him going to Seattle to finally replace Steve Hutchinson.

Then a light bulb went off....what if we get a late 1st for JT, or a 2nd and something else...and we use that ammo to trade up (if neccessary) and drafted Brandon Albert to play guard for us?
That would give us arguably the best O-line in the AFC. Not only that but we would be set at O-line for probably the next 10 years...or Beck's entire career were he to make it at QB.

We could do that and still have 2nd and 3rd and 4th round picks to fill other needs with.

I don't think he'll go #5, although I do agree that he'll be gone before the 20's.

But if we manage to get Jacksonville's 1st we could package that with one of our 2nd's to move up and grab him.

Can you imagine Ronnie and Ricky (and a little bit of Booker) running behind a line of Jake Long, Justin Smiley, Samson Satele, Brandon Albert, and Vernon Carey?

Hi everyone, new to the boards, love the dolphins, never thought about posting though. exciting time to be a phinphan since the big tuna climbed aboard.

to the original poster, I like the idea of a pimped out O-line, but Sparano should be able to fit in a prospect w/ 2b, 3 or 4th round pick.

I would be extremely happy with Chilo at 3. He has all the tools and upside that Sparano could mold.

I really hope we can get a 2nd and 4th for JT. Then draft best DE, LB, CB or TE at 2a, 2nd from Jax, and 2b.

Ideal draft:
1. Jake Long LT (very happy with pick)
2a. Quentin Groves DE/OLB
2b. Malcom Kelly WR
2 (jax). Charles Godfrey or Patrick Lee CB
3. Chilo Rachal OG
4. Carl Nicks OT
4 (jax). Brad Cottam TE

No need picking a QB with soo many other holes. Next year draft our franchise QB if Beck doesn't work out, elite CB or DE with first pick and second pick.

we can find a decent starter in round 4 or if we obtain a 5th round pick somehow, but it would suck to get to OLs with out first3 picks we have lots of holes

Chilo is a monster! He's raw but he's one of the fastest & Strongest guards in the draft at the point od attack...... Great second round pick :up:
