Tony Sparano has a lot on his mind these days, even for the offseason. Free agency is in full swing and the draft is rapidly approaching. Sparano recently sat down with Dolphin Digest editor Andy Cohen to discuss a variety of topics.

Q. Put into context how much further along the Dolphins are now compared to when you were preparing for your first draft?

TS: There are a lot fewer holes. We still have needs we need to fill. But there is an identity now on this team, some good systems in place on offense, defense and special teams. We have a clear vision of what we need to draft and what areas we need as opposed to year one when we hadn't put the product on the field yet. Now, we did a tremendous job in year one getting the Merlings and the Langfords and, of course, Jake Long. We're further down the road now with a better understanding of where we want to be.

Q. This will be your third draft as head coach of the Dolphins. Tell us, from your perspective, what it's like when the Dolphins are on the clock?

TS: It's a nervous energy, a lot like game day. There has been so much work going into the evaluation of these players and hoping that the dominoes fall in your direction. It's an exciting time because you get another key face for your program, a guy you hope will be a staple to your franchise.

Andy Cohen's line of questioning for Dolphin Digest and the website are laughable because he's such a corporate stooge. If you want to see "no duh" answers, read one of his column.

Sample hard-hitting Andy Cohen questions:

"Tony, do you respect Bill Parcells, your boss who signs your paychecks and will fire you if you say that you disrespect him?"
"Do you feel that playing in Miami is an important part of the Miami Dolphins franchise?"
"Do you like rainbows?"
"Breathing: Do you feel it is necessary?"
"How many fingers am I holding up?"
