FYI: Dolphins GM Jeff Ireland envisions Miller returning punts (he averaged 23.1 yards on seven returns in 2011, eight for 26.8 in 2010). Of taking two UM players (Vernon and Miller), Ireland said he likes the way Al Golden coaches and believes in his program.

I found this interesting. Ireland tends to favor drafting players from certain schools that has a coaching staff he likes. For instance, Montana. He has scouted Montana heavily and ended up drafting several players from there, including Jimmy Wilson, Dan Carpenter and Hilliard. It seems like he likes Golden's staff and the way he coaches, so you can expect more Canes in future drafts as long as Ireland is drafting and Golden is coaching UM.

I agree with SkapePhin. This could be the beginning of a true symbiotic relationship between the Phins and UM.

Love it :brewskis:

Everyone knows UM players tend to pan out really well in the NFL

Well the U is certaintly a better place to look than Montana, though Montana has been pretty good to us.

Sell more tickets

This.

Dolphins season tickets are now at what? 30k?

They spit in the face of Hurricane fans last season. Whether the non-Hurricane fans like it or not, there is a connection between the Dolphins and Hurricanes. Dolphins need to recover some of the Hurricane fan base that they lost by worshipping Tim Tebow.

I expected two 'Canes to be drafted this weekend. But it was Vernon and Streeter.

Did not expect Lamar Miller.

The Montana Griz go undefeated every single year. I know because I lived by the U of M campus for a few years

Their players work very hard and play to win. It's why Miami drafts from them.

Al Golden runs his programs with that same mentality.

Let's hope they will be better developed than Randy Shannon's players... Which I suppose shouldn't be too hard of a task considering we've had players that don't even know how to watch tape...

hard to believe that we have not taken players from the U when they're right in our backyard....player after player have gone to be probowlers and we have not taken them.....happy to get a couple of them.

Ozzy rules!!
