They also need to unleash the Wildcat again, and not just sprinkle it in occasionally with rookie quarterback Pat White, who seemed jittery in his debut when he missed a wide-open Ted Ginn Jr. on a pass that could have changed the complexion of the game in the first half. Where was versatile running back Patrick Cobbs, last year's secret weapon? Other than a late kick return he was rarely utilized in the offense.

I didn't read anywhere in that article that we should expect more Pat White, only that the reporter thought we should use him more. It's not like there is a quote from anyone on the team suggesting that will happen this week.

Let's hope we can continue to make life miserable for Peyton whenever he plays the Dolphins.
Manning has played 11 games against Miami and has 16 TD passes but also 18 interceptions.

Well White's still the #2 QB. If we weren't intending to use him, he'd be #3.

Again, that's not definite that we'll use him. But Sparano's keeping it open so that we can.

Its obvious the coaching staff thinks Pat White can help the team right now.
Its also obvious 97% of finheaven doesnt.

I just ask that Henning not bring up WildPat when the drives are actually going well.

I just ask we don't fall into 2-3 straight Wildcat plays when the drives are actually going well.

I just ask that we run the ball more than 1x consecutively when the running game is actually doing well.

Too much to ask?

Once again, PW was not in the Wildcat. He was a QB in a pro style formation.

ok, I'm sorry. I just ask that we don't bring our #2 QB into the game when drives are actually going well.

better?

I also ask, that we call plays that you know.. make sense. Not.. " Oh, hey guys, let's bring in the Wildcat for 2 plays, watch it fail, and then bring in Pennington for 3rd and long where he is absolutely terrible! And then.. hm. Let's do two fullback dives in a row, and try to get Polite killed by a defensive tackle. The result? We win, and I get to go home and draw up a play where Jake Long runs a streak and Pat White throws it over the top to him, where he will make a ridiculous one handed catch, break the tackle, and run in for a TD. "

Sorry, I'm just tired as hell of this thing we call an offense. I wish we'd utilize our talent for once, instead of trying to be nice and give everyone an equal amount of touches a game, and I just wish we would win a game playing all out, real in your face football. At least our d-coordinator knows how his side of the ball works.

Only if Allen, Smith and Davis can find a way to be Surtain/Madison 2.0. Peyton has always said he hated playing against our secondary back then. Now, maybe not so much. We need our young secondary to step it up (and Will Allen).

I'd love to see us win by dominating the line of scrimmage and time of possession. I'd feel much better knowing that we can.

I want to see Ronnie get more tread this game. I know he's injury prone and the coaches probably have that in the back of their mind and try to limit his carries, but once he gets going, it's truthfully hard to stop him late in games. I'd like to see Ronnie get 20 carries and Ricky get 10-15, out of whichever formation. Don't worry about the wildcat, I have a feeling that the coaching staff still has a few new looks to show us from that formation and the more Pat White plays, the more comfortable he'll get.

Misleading if not totally inaccurate thread title. try "USA Today Week 2 Dolphins Team Report".

Am I the only one in here that actually enjoys the innovations that our team introduces? i mean we have the wildcat which has taken on extreme popularity and fame, and now we have a talented young QB in a different formation.

i just think its cool that we get all these different personel involved. And if we start winning than it will be the talk of the league. I mean teams already have to prepare for the wildcat, now imagine preparing for the wildcat, for the pat white formations and the regular offense??? that gives us such an advantage.

also food for thought - if pat white is getting snaps already as a QB, whose to say he hasnt shown the coaches something they really like and perhaps he could be competing for the QB job someday??
