Expectations Versus Reality

Good to see a post from Blitz, with the classic avatar and similar tastes in politics and mystery programs, if I remember correctly. :)

Nothing in franchise history was more boring than the previous offseason; Sparano returning along with tunnel vision Henne and his crank it up delivery. The only brilliant move was signing Reggie Bush, guaranteed to jolt all the geniuses who compared to skill set to Lorenzo Booker. Otherwise, we had the upside of two dead flies. I didn't want to waste my time posting here, or anywhere Dolphins related.

Compared to that, adding Philbin is like being 16-0 and kneeling toward immortality.

Philbin is our coach. All the downers should give the man a couple of seasons to see what he can do with the team.
Opening up the offense and getting some competition for Moore is exciting news.
I was hoping for an established head coach, but we have Philbin. I will support him for now.

Reality clearly exceeded expectations at today's press conference.

I think Philbin is a excellent hire who will put this team in a position to be competitive for some time. Where I believe reality must coincide with expectation is in the fact that Philbin must be given some time to build this team into what he invisions. He eluded to this in his presser when he was asked a question which wanted him to put a number on the amount of wins this team will have next year. As long as the team improves fronm one year to the next I think he's headed in the right direction and you would have to consider this a success. I don't think you should expect a Superbowl winner next year, but instead a improved team, being built to compete year in and year out.

We'll call you in 2013...see ya!

We got Philbin...He seems to know that we need a franchise QB and its not Moore.

McCoy would have kept Moore...

Wow it must blow seeing a cup half empty all the time! Positivity goes a long way, you should try it out.

As for our dolphins, if we score Flynn (which we have a great chance) and he turns out to be what he displayed against the lions then i'll be glad we waited for Philbin. Even if we do pull the trigger on Flynn, do you think Philbin would bring him in if he wasn't confident with his play? The signing will mean a lot..
