Buried deep in this article from yesterday is some very good news (in my opinion) regarding the rebuilding of our Offensive Line:

...working on a long-term deal with center Rex Hadnot

I think this is a great step towards helping to solidify our O-Line for Years to come and maintain some consistency. If the ‘Phins can lock Rex up, with Carey having 3 years left on his contract & whatever rookies we Draft or Sign, that should be 3-4 players who will be with the team for a very long time and should finally help get this Offense headed in the right direction.

As Cam often says, the team is built form the middle out & what better place to start than our Center? Thoughts?

Great News! I really hope we can lock him and Carey long term. I think what Mueller and Cam are trying to do is solidify the Line and that is a real good step that can help the R & R express and hopefully protect our QB.

I wouldnt be surprised if Rex is shifted to guard. I thought he fit better there.

But I would love to sign him to an extension regardless. Hes a good competitor and a nice, vocal leader on the offensive side of the ball. We dont have too many of those.

Thats great news. I cant remember the last time we gave an olineman a long term deal

We haven't had o-linemen worth signing long-term. Now we can fill the weak spots and maybe add 1-2 solid back-ups with this draft and UDFA's. Here's to a new line that works together!

The way they like it is for players to know more than one position so that certainly fits. We get another center and Rex becomes a G or starts out season at center to move later.

Rex played well at guard but he kept getting a ton of false start penalties. Shifting him to center fixed that because he hikes the ball.

2004 we gave Jeno james and Damion Mcintosh six year deals.

Sorry, I mean a Olineman that we drafted. Someone who is truly ours. Not someone from another team. That goes to show you too how smart speilman was giving McIntosh a 6 year deal

Speilman was an idiot for sure. He should work for Matt Millen or does he lol.

At least Mcintosh played for a few years for us unlike his other projects Feeley and Gordon.

Didnt we also sign McIntosh only to find out he needed serious ankle surgery?

I guess Speilman didnt believe in physicals.

That, or he performed them himself. "Looks pretty healthy to me!"

This brought a few questions to my mind. Are we going to lock him up at center for a few years and not worry about the position, or are we in fact going to draft Kalil and move Hadnot to guard? I go with the ladder moving him to left guard. If we do this draft right, I would feel comfortable about our line for the first time in several years.

RT- Carey
RG- Shelton
C- Kalil
LG- Hadnot
LT- Brown, Staley, Alabai???

Speilman will go down as the owrst GM in Miami dolphins history. Gordon? Wow, he played like 2 games and and then pope from Pitt dislocated his shoulder and he was out for the rest of the season...Ah, speilman, a 3rd for Gordon, a 2nd for Feeley...That year was the lowest in Fins history
