What are the most critical positions and players Fins need to be able to defeat Brady? What is the scheme and player model design that can overturn this 800lb gorilla because selecting individual players for their past performance or individual talent will not, has not worked. Hickey and Philbin and the coordinators have to look at player matchup charts on the board, look at opposing schemes, and figure out how to win the key matchups. This isnt about a player here and a player there like in FA or draft.
This is why the failure of Irelands trade up for DJordan is such a bust. DJ had no impact whatsoever in key games that effected the outcome over the length of the season. He didnt impact opposing offenses whatsoever.
As this new regime selects players, I hope they are looking across the line of scrimmage directly at Beli and his lineup/schemes and planning on how to win these critical positional matchups.
Otherwise we can expect at best small improvements, meaningless as they are.
