I think that it would be wise to sign atleast one veteran WR and still draft a WR. One WR that I haven't seen many people discuss and would come cheap is the former Bills WR Mike Williams. I know he’s had a down year but the Bills have some good young WRs and from what I have heard was Williams just wasn’t a good fit. I think Williams would be a good fit for us and is only 27 years old, I think he still has some talent and could be just as good as Crabtree/Nicks, if not better. Im just curious as to why he hasn’t been mentioned, does he have a bad attitude? injury issues? Thoughts?

Ah well I guess that means Philbin wouldn't be interested in him

You've got to be joking. His former college coach at Syracuse, Doug Marrone, eventually gave up on him at Buffalo after Tampa Bay had given up on him. He has the reputation of being extremely undisciplined and moody. I wouldn't touch him with a 10' stripper pole (see MikeO's link below).

Mike Williams... nope... he is a punk with negative work ethic and attitude. forget him!!! he was a 'Cuse guy... trust!!!

and honestly there really isnt any WR FAs I really am interested in bringing in.

Williams played in 9 games last year and had 8 catches. He will probably never play in the NFL again.

I'd bring him in on a one year minimal guarantee prove it deal. This guy was great in college and was pretty damn good in Tampa Bay for the first 3 years. I'm not sure what his issues are, but get a good Coach to get in his ear and maybe he can turn it around. Sometimes you have to take chances on talented but troubled guys. A perfect example of that was Rolando McClain in Dallas, dude was basically out of the league because of demons he was dealing with, they took a chance on him based solely on his talent and he worked out for them. On a minimal guaranteed deal, if it doesn't work.. cut him. No harm no foul.

So you want our WR corps to consist of the 3 great attitude guys, I-Quit-Wallace, Trade-Me-I-Cannot-Read-Routes-Matthews and now Coach-Hated-Williams? This is the group you want to nurture your rookie WR and the corps you want to build around your franchise QB?

I dunno ..... seems like yet another recipe for disaster to me.
