this is my offseason FA wishlist...this is obviously if they do not get resigned! lol

in no specific rank or order....

1. Chris Canty DE Dallas

2. Bryant Mcfadden CB Pittsburgh/ Daunta Robinson CD Houston (we need a vet corner) * (this means i want only 1 of these players not both)

3. Carlos Dansby OLB Arizona (i know hes MLB but he will EXCEL opposite of porter, or we can have him as Crowders replacement.)

4. Jermaine Phillips S Tampa Bay/Oshiomogoho Atogew S St.Louis (we need a safety ASAP Hill isn't cutting it.)

5. Antonio Bryant WR Tampa Bay/ Hank Baskett WR Philly/ Bryant Johnson WR San Fran. (we need a BIG WR, as we all know Wilford isnt doing good)

6. Tank Johnson DT/NT Dallas (forget offfield problems hes a baller)/ Gabe Watson DT Arizona (this dude is a beast 6'4 340lbs)


*not too many big names, just good players who i think fit our system, mainly looking for depth and filling holes. the draft will fill in the rest, like oline ect.....
 
re-sign:

Yeremiah Bell, SS
Vernon carey, T
Channing Crowder, ILB: pretty much out of necessity; it's a pretty weak class for FA ILBs

i think after that, we won't be able to re-sign Goodman and Hill


signings:

Vincent Fuller, CB/S
Will Allen, FS
Colin Cole, DT
Roderick Green, OLB
Jason Brown, C
 
I would love to see:

Dunta Robinson
Karlos Dansby
Bryant Johnson
Gabe Watson

I know it will probably wont happen but it would be great

The safety I think we can draft one

I would like Robinson, Johnson and Watson but im sure they overall would be too inexpensive.

I'll take all of them except Canty. We took care of DE last year with Merling and Langford and both of them impressed at times all season as rookies.
 
i was talking to a buddy of mine and he was telling me how when he was in highschool he lived close to Bryant Mcfadden CB, and how Bryant would always tOLD him he wants to 1 day play for the phins....so who knows. i would love him cuz hes a big strong physical CB and he is used to playing in a 3-4 Def, and a VERY PHYSICAL DEF.

that's a good point
 
I believe the #1 thing we need to do is resign Andre Goodman. Corners are hard to come by in this league and if Goodman can play as good as he did the last 5 games or so of 2008, he will be a pro bowler in 2009.

Everyone else is replaceable in IMO, though I would like to see them resign Y. Bell too.

we need to get younger at corner and in reality our pass defense was not that good.
 
Chris Canty can't rush the passer, which is our biggest need on the D Line. Not to mention, we have a ton of money tied up in Starks, Holliday, Langford, and Merling as our DE rotation. And we have Lionel Dotson, who Justin Smiley raved about as a pass rusher. Canty would not fill any need for us.

Antonio Bryant? The guy that Parcells traded out of Dallas? The guy that had to be separated from Parcells by security after he balled up his jersey and threw it in Parcells face? And the guy who missed 2007 because of a DUI and a failed drug test? I'm going to go out on a limb and say there is no chance of Antonio Bryant's name even being mentioned by our front office.

Daunte Robinson or even Bryant McFadden would be real nice pickups but even if we either sign our own or bring in one of these guys we still should draft a CB to develope and step in in due time.
 
My first choice was Gamble but stupid Carolina resigned him so now I would want Duante Robinson by signing him we would also weaken the Texans maybe we will be able to finally beat them next year lol. I would love Suggs to be the expensive FA we go after and who will take over for porter when he is done. If we would just get these two guys and resign Bell, goodmen, carey and Crowder if he takes a reasonable contract and not ask for some crazy number I would call it a successful FA period.
