FACT: We cant have nice things...

I was actually ok, with a CB room of Jack Jones, JJ Brents, Marshall, K. Kahou and S. Duck for next season, now 3 out of 5 are on IR and Marshall, has been in and out.
I don’t know if heat and humidity has anything to do with this, but sure is tough to built a good roster in Miami

I have a friend who truley believes the team is cursed becuase of the Native American burial ground. But in reality, we're an organization thats been built by people who are just bad at their jobs. The injuries arnt bc of a curse, they are because we had one of the worst GMs in the history of professional sports and he built an awful roster which was forced to rely on players who arnt durable.

Its not so much that we cant have nice things, its more that we just dont have many nice things
exactly, I've been saying this for years

Grier definitely built a paper thin roster and then gave all the money to a few people so they couldn’t pay backups.

But we’ve been suffering injuries to starters, their backups, their backups, and their backups. So much so that they’ve had to bring in people off of the street and play them on a week or two. Not even well built roster could withstand that.
So true!

"Grier (and Mcd - my edit) definitely built a paper thin roster and then gave all the money to a few people so they couldn’t pay backups."
This has been one of my complaints for years - paying big money to very good/expensive players, thinking one top player on a poor roster can exceed the value of 3 average players. Nope. whoever the the new GM/HC? are, I hope they kill off this 'I want an elite player' mindset

Looks like like JuJu Brents is 2 and done. He got ran off from indy because he was always injured. His 1st game with miami he gets hurt in the 4th quarter. 2nd game In madrid he mangles his foot and is going to miss the rest of the season. Kid has serious talent but is a tater chip. He is the football equivalent of a **** tease. Feel bad for the kid. He is bumming for sure.
True. I liked what I saw of him. I didn't even know who he was against the Bills, I just knew immediately he was the best CB on the roster. One of those good players, but not durable. We have enough of those.

You seem confident we will be hiring a new GM. I am pretty sure you are already looking at him.

Definitely haven’t had nice things. Hopefully, this next guy changes that. Hope is all we have..
No, you're wrong. I said this in another thread, so forgive me for those who already read it:

"Hope in one hand and sh*t in the other gives you a sh*t sandwich."

This is what we have, which is much worse than hope.

I was on board too with that group, with the next draft devoted to the trenches. The DB's have been playing better, when not hurt, but why doesn't Weaver see these guys are better at Man coverage? Every pass play I see where we give up chunks is due to Zone coverage, a perfect pass, or a DE covering a guy....

We have won 3 or 4. Can we just cut the woe is me ****? Its an injury to a CB that wasn't even on the team through training camp.

I agree that Grier is crap and brought in injury prone players, but it goes beyond that because over the years we’re getting injuries to players that have been historically healthy. It’s just bad luck. Look at the Lions. Last year and this year they’ve suffered an inordinate amount of injuries.
And crappy strenght and conditioning coaches.

I am resigned to thinking Champ is the "new" GM.
Id be shocked if he wasnt. Mainly because I think Ross wants McDaniel making every decision and Champ is just a "Yes man" going forward for what ever McD wants. Hes a straw man, in reality we dont have a GM, we have a HC with absolute power.

Just hope after 2026 fails McD, Champ and Tua all get replaced but Id bet good money we don't get that either.
