I see all of the other teams in the AFC East jumping into free agency and signing guys left and right. Thomas Jones just signed with the Jets and the Patriots have signed multiple players. Are the Dolphins falling behind?

Seems to me like what Miami is doing = preparing for the future.

Looks like we're gonna build through the draft. Not a problem there.

Were be fine mate. You watch, whats happening now, is the start of what needed to be done when Saban came, a clear out and starting a fresh. Its exciting and something could well spark from it as soon as this season.

I agree. It sends a message to the players that they must produce. They can no longer go off of potential or what they did 5 years ago.

It's way too early in the FA period to start jumping ship. We're not even a week in and people are getting overzealous. We have a lot of cap space now and an abundance of draft picks. Let's ride this wave and see where it lands.

Besides, McMike, we have lost no starters.

it may look as if we are falling behind however i would disagree, we havnt started as fast as our rival afc east teams have but it is still early in the offseason and we are in a good position to help build back our team to a winning franchise. when wayne hired cam he said he wanted to win now and that cam gave us our best option to do so. by loading up on draft picks and signing guys in the middle of the class in FA who are still relatively young with potential (david martin, kelley washington). I expect us to make atleast one big move such as sign joey porter or potentially trade for lance briggs however to all dolfans dont count us out yet because our competitors have jumped quick on the FA market, last year we were the best team on paper heading into the season and we saw how far that got us

It would seem that we are falling behind in the short term, but we will greatly benefit for the long term. The FO obviously has a plan that they are implementing that has been compared to the Patriots when Pioli and Belichek got into power. I will accept the short term fall back for the long term gain.

Hell No!!! We're doing what we should have done 3 years ago!!! I think Cam & Randy are doing a hell of a job.

It's good to have hop. I wish we could have traded McMike and signed Holliday to a smaller contract but I agree with the cuts and I would like to see the team rebuild as long as I see results in Cam's 2nd year.

I see a lot of people here are happy with management and the way they are axing everyone. But I have to object to a lot of things. It's not like this team has no talent at all. Our defense is top notch and with even a mediocre offense, we are a playoff team. We were only really a solid oline and a healthy (and old self) Culpepper away from a playoff team. Now we are even weaker on the oline, down a very good TE, and have not filled any of the voids yet. If we cut one of our receivers and don't get one through FA, I'm going to be very upset. Our offense has only got worse, explain to me how losing McMichael helps. He was still a top 10 TE in the league and not even close to retireing. That's the one that angers me the most, just stupid move by the FO.

What we are doing right now is very smart.

The teams with the most cap space are blowing it all on the marquee guys in this free agent class. Maybe Buffalo and Dallas can afford to throw $50 million at underachieving guards from UT, but when you're a team that needs to find 16 players for $19 million, that's a recipe for turning 6-10 into 3-13.

Instead, we target the one difference maker we need on defense, aggressively run our traps with the under-the-radar guys who can plug holes at a reasonable price, and continue to prune our bloated salaries and accumulate draft picks.

Within the next two to three days, I expect that the pace of signings will pick up, and that about two weeks from now, we'll be satisfied with how our roster looks going into the draft.

with the way things look, I'm sure the haters will change thier minds.

when we get some peeps in here.
