It's a rushing attempt. "To be considered a sack the quarterback must intend to throw a forward pass." Typically they give the QB a rushing attempt for -1 or -2 yards.

I really think Baker can have a great year if he stays healthy.

    Josh Rosen?

Honestly, I think our pass rush is going to be tepid this year, so my mind keeps getting drawn back to the secondary or our passing game. We have a lot of resources in the 2020 draft, that's where we'll find a pass rusher or two. This year, I'm afraid, we're relying almost completely on scheme to generate pass rush. For the record, I voted Jerome Baker, because he has the most innate speed … but how he learns and adapts to the system will determine whether he is a success or not.

I would love to see the coaches use Baker like a Lawrence Taylor type of player. I personally think our sack leader will be an Edge Rusher. Not Harris.

It could be but if you look at QB rushing stats it seems they get counted as rushes for -1 yards. Like I’ve seen Tom Brady 3 rushes for -3 yards where I’ve seen the game and it had to be the kneel downs.

I feel Jayrone Elliot is our best pass rusher.

Yeah, I've seen that, but I guess I've just always assumed a tackle of the QB behind the LOS counted as a sack, regardless.

Once upon a time Cam Wake was just a guy from the minor leagues ....

Maybe Elliot just needed time to develop. Although reports from mini camp didn’t sound like he was doing much..

Hell, I’ll still list him as our ‘sack artist’ this year for the hell of it, seems just as likely as anyone else to get like 7+ sacks. We’d be ecstatic to have found a gem like that..... but yeah, probably not gonna happen
