This is just another example of how the Commissioner and the owners are conspiring to ruin the most beloved sport in America. If you want to point to asinine rule changes, i.e. different protection rules for the QB, to favoritism for the big market teams over the lesser watched teams, to the incompetence of most of the officiating crews, etc., their constant pursuit of the almighty dollar by a bunch of billionaires is laughable and sad. I can't turn away because the Dolphins are my drug of choice, but the further desintergation of the connection of the average fan to the league may make the game little more than an amusement to the populace.
Approximately 1,000 fans sued the NFL, the Cowboys and owner Jerry Jones on Wednesday saying they were deceived by not getting seats or received inadequate seats. The federal lawsuit, filed in Dallas, alleges breach of contract, fraud and deceptive sales practices.
"We think that this is a pretty straightforward matter," said Michael Avenatti of Eagan Avenatti which is representing the fans, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. "People did not obtain what they were told they were going to get."
The lawsuit seeks $5 million in actual damages for the plaintiffs -- but that number can be tripled under the state's trade law -- and unspecified punitive damages, according to Bloomberg.
Spokesmen for the Cowboys and the NFL had no comment.
For one Steelers fan, a trip to Super Bowl XLV led to a day of delays and countless complications,

these fans were wronged. by the stadium and by the league. the league knew a week before the super bowl that the seats would not be ready, but nobody said a word. they just waited for people to fork over thousands of dollars in airfair, lodging, meals, time off from work, etc...then they tried to buy them off with a refund, some cash, and tickets to next years game. well i'm sure that the majority of people who were turned away were steelers and packers fans who only came to THIS super bowl b/c their teams were in it. next years game doesn't mean anything to them if they dont get to see their teams. and i'm sure that the league made the fans who accepted the 'buyout' sign a consent form saying that they wouldn't sue. sucks for them b/c the ones who do file the class action lawsuit will be compensated much more than the crap the league was offering these people.

this is a severe stain on the league and the stadium and they deserve every bit of criticism for it. this is going to be a ***** for them to clean up

Yup, NF is getting what it deserves on this one..I hope these ppl win their suit. NFL was really wrong in this one.
