“I know how it works, where the coach and the quarterback get most of the blame,” tight end Anthony Fasano said. “But I also know we’re well-prepared to go out and play, and our mistakes are the reason we’re not winning.”

Also Sparano, when asked about his job security:

I’m getting ready for the San Diego Chargers. You guys can figure that out. Go ask the sources. They’ll tell you better than me.

For all the flak they get, this is the right attitude.

I agree but that quote from Sparano is usually what a coach says right before his last game

Yeah - when the coaches refers to the "sources" that is a sign that the screw tightening right there - if TS leaves too soon "interim" comes in we may salvage a few wins which may not be good

It's also what he says when he's tired of media circling around him like sharks.

They love the ratings they get when they write stories about the futility of the regime. Preaching patience and faith isn't exactly popular.

The coaching staff has screwed up plenty, but also have the players. Fasano's quote sums it up pretty well.

A coaching change in the middle of the season only leaves one thing, a hole to fill on the staff and more work for those left behind. Let Tony play out the season and then go get your coach if you need one but **** canning him 1/4 of the way through isn't the answer. Cower, Fisher Gruden etc... are not taking a team mid season, they are going to want the off season to weigh the options and make an informed decision, something Ross seems to not be capable of.

watching the browns game again i wish fasano would have gotten the job done as a blocker run or pass in that game...and i swear if one more damn person tells me incog is a good left guard fit i'm gonna go postal...first quarter of the browns game we try to pull him around the right side 2 times and he makes contact with no one...straight line mauler type stuff he looks solid but on the move pulling forget about it...he's too stiff and straight line...

i'll tell ya some other things also...john jerry looks solid at right guard...every time i watch incognito more i get a little sicker to my stomach...we had running backs in the backfield not pick up some edge blitzers from the secondary or lbs up the middle...didn't even see guys coming off the edge

daniel thomas on that screen play only scores cause mike pouncey shows off his terrific athleticism and ability to move on the play...vernon careys out there on the play looking stiff as a board and pouncey runs right by him on his way to making the block that gets daniel thomas the lane to the endzone...man pounceys a terrific move player...how can anyone not think he'd make an outstanding left guard pulling...not only does he get out in front but he makes solid sustained contact...

we need to lose carey and colombo both...they just are way too stiff and slow...carey i would tell see ya this offseason...no question

watching this game again can't count hiw many times daniel thomas made something out of nothing...good luck sunday reggie bush and company running the ball...

I think Incognito has been absolutely terrible this year, on board with Colombo as our worst player hands down. He has been guilty of not only giving up clean sacks, pressures, and run stuffs, but has been timely with his holding penalties as well. Hes a prick and he sucks, **** him.

I think it's on that screen play.. Vernon throws his whole body into Cushing, almost a blindside, and he literally bounces off him. Cushing seriously did not move an inch from Vernon's "blocking". I've never seen 350 lbs just look like nothing

When you throw 350 lbs of blubber against a solid object. Muscle weighs more than fat..if that is the case Carey must play like he is 175 lbs

If the players arent playing to their potential, doesnt that fall on coaching? Yea, most coaches that get fired are fired for what their players do on the field. The coach's job is to get the most out of every player and when that ceases to happen, a change is needed. Plus you have to consider the many gameday goofs by Sparano over the years...he just isnt a great coach.

I think Jerry always got a lot of bad rap last year, but the fact is he came back in terrible shape after his sickness and wasn't able to play to his potential. I know the play you're talking about with Incognito pulling (at least one of the two). He pulls and misses the safety completely and either Bush or Thomas get stopped for like a 4 yard loss. He is terrible as a move player. You have a line of Long-Pouncey-Incognito-Jerry-Garner and this line is significantly improved. Even though Pouncey is playing well; he would be a top 5 LG right now.
