I'm just reading too many different sites and too many opinions about whether he had some loose bodies removed or whether it was some kind of major reconstruction. Anyone REALLY know for sure? It apparently happened in January after their season.

Please, don't speculate if you don't know. I'm really just wondering if anyone out there knows what he actually had done?

I dont know, but I can GUARANTEE you he was checked out/medically cleared before the deal was made official. Then again, so was Daunte.

Well now I've gone ahead and rebutted my own point. No, but seriously, I doubt its an issue.

"Fasano suffered a sprained A.C. joint in his right shoulder during the preseason but played through the injury all season. He underwent surgery in mid-January..." Not much info on the surgery but the Cowboys were expecting Tony to miss some spring prep. Hope that helps.

He suffered a sprained A.C. joint.

How you treat a sprained AC joint? It depends on the severity of the sprain. Here is a good comparison:
  • Level 1 and Level 2: Rest, pain medication, an arm sling and mild physical therapy. Typically, it takes three to six weeks to be pain free and gain a full range of motion.
  • Level 3: Surgery will be called for 50% of the time. After surgery you'll need extensive physical therapy. Recovery is 3-6 months.
  • Levels 4, 5, 6: Surgery will always happen and only has a 50% chance of success. Success being defined as gaining range of motion, flexibility and loss of pain. In many cases further clavicle breakage will happen after surgery.
In other words, it probably wasn't more than Level 3, so he'll be ready for training camp.

Fasano at 23 was a steal! Witten was the man in Dallas , there was no room over there for him and they wanted to go with a blocking TE, this kid is not a great blocker but very good pass catching, i think he will fit in nicely, remember the staff knows these guys very very well.
