Favorite Draft pick and Favorite UDFA?

Love our first 2 picks. Tone setters.

Love Armstrong and Conyers as UDFAs, shocked they weren't drafted. Armstrong has production and size we lack.

Conyers is smooth, has good thick build, plus pass and run block ability, and has experience as a ball handler, runner and even thrower, as wildcat QB.

I like Gordon and Jonah.

I was a little surprised that we only drafted 1 offensive lineman and I didn't love that we had to give up a 3rd and 4th to grab him...then we traded out of our other 4th.

I was optimistic that we had 5 picks in the first 4 rounds. Then we came out with 2 players. 🤔

But what do I know...

IMO the draft this year was fairly weak by recent standards. Last year 5 QBs went by pick 12, so the Raiders were able to land Pro Bowl talent with pick 13 (Bowers). The DPotY didn’t go until pick 19.

I state this because landing a 3rd next year from the Texans for the 116th pick this year is good value. Worst case scenario you are looking at a pick in the late 80s based on last year’s standings. Beyond that, we got to swap pick 224 for pick 179 which allowed us to select Gordon.

The draft class next year is expected to be strong. At the very least there are going to be very good QBs. Unless something changes dramatically, teams will be competing for Arch Manning. 2026 is the most realistic time we could get out of Tua’s contract (if we have to). That 3rd we picked up next year could help us move up in the 1st.

I think the team knew they can't solve all the holes in this draft alone, so they went all beef so they can do more sexy style picks next year.

UDFA is easy. Conyers. He could be a legit game changer.

Favorite draft pick is a tie. Jonah based on what he will do immediately for the team and the run game in particular. And Marshall Jr because he was a very smart pick. So much potential. He has two flaws in his game that I think coaches and the conditioning staff can fix. In a draft with no stand out boundary CBs he could potentially be the best in the class.

I'm hearing he won't be out till 27

I have heard people in the media float that idea in the context that he can control his future if a team he does not want to play for gets the 1st pick in 2026.

I think there are definitely risks associated with a move like that. I know these guys get paid on NIL contracts now, but I don’t think it is worth getting injured in your 4th college season if you were already set to be the #1 pick the previous year.

In a hypothetical scenario where Texas doesn’t do well or he has a mediocre season, I could see him go back for a 4th year. It really comes down to where he expects to be drafted in 2026.

Its a viable strategy but one really needs to be careful when they apply it. No take backs. Let's say its the Browns 2026.. ew, I'm going back to college. But what if its the Jets in 2027? Things could always go from bad to worse.

Favorite draft pick is Jonah Savaiinaea.
Favorite UDFA is divided between Conyers, Saunders, Asante, and Oladipo.

I heard there were holes and he's not ready developmentally yet. I don't know who formed that opinion or why.
