Call this a sentimental thread (as I am tired of reading about Jt's dancing)...
We all love Dan Marino, Larry Czonka, and most of the superstars. We all know about the perennial probowlers who commanded giant and often well deserved contracts.
But we also know that football is a team sport and that you can never have enough strong role players who may never make a probowl, but who still are clutch players who work hard and get things done. Guys you root for because they wear the Aqua and Orange and give their all to the team, even if no one else has heard of them except the fans who watch every week.
Who are your favorite all time non-bigtime fins?
off the top of my head - Bernie Parmelee.
I thought he should have been our starting running back before Kirby went down (he looked really good in preseaon.) If he stayed healthy, he may have been "disqualified" from this list because I thought he could have been a really solid starting RB. that being said, he was our special teams mainstay for years and just a solid player. I hated when he went to the Jets, and I thought there was some poetic justice when he ran amok on us as a back up in that one game.
