Coming into his 17th season brett favre has 414 TD's and 57,500 passing yrd's and is very close to marino's record's (420 TD's - 61,361 passing). So which records do you think favre beats this year? Not that i'd think anything less of Dan but i was just wondering what people around here think.

Hopefully neither, but he is really close in tds. I don't think he will throw for the 4k yards he would need.
 
# of TD's is very reachable this year and I'm sure he'll get that. Problem is he'll throw just as many INT's (or more) as TD's. It will cost GB and they'll finish last or second to last in the div and by year-end GB will start getting their other QB's some game-time. BF will see this and get out before he gets the subtle hint before next season. Fans up there have been pretty patient but I think things will start turning this season against him and they'll realize its time for him to retire. JMHO.
 
meh this is what happens when you play for 17 years and never get hurt. He has the # of games hes played on his side, not to mention at his best he could make any throw he wanted to from any position (going down, off his back foot, in the air, it didnt matter).

I dont want to see marinos records broken but that what records are for, they get broken. Im pretty sure if manning stays healthy he'll break them all.

I still say if you gave marino joe montana's 49ers hed have 6 or 7 superbowls.
 
Im from Wisconsin and have seen favre for years...the thing is I love Dan he is the most unique QB ever to play the game and played with such passion you couldnt help but love the guy...Brett Favre plays the game with the same passion and respect that Dan did making him a very unique QB in his own right...so if anyone is going to break Dan's reconds im glad its Favre...
 
favre is being just like bruce smith and hanging around to get the td record...whatta punk...he's the football version of curt schilling....always throwing his opinion out there even when it doesn't involve him...i bet the packers are tired of his crap too...holding them hostage every offseason...aaron rodgers development is gonna be slowed by all of this...i hope he gets hurt in pre-season!!!
 
He'll break the TD record. It took him more games and an extra season to do it though. Dan was better than him. Favre wouldn't even have a ring if he wouldn't have been lucky enough to play Bledslow and the Pats in the Super bowl. Having Reggie White on defense didn't hurt either.

I'm tired of people criticizing Dan because he didn't beat probably the best dynasty in the history of the NFL in his sophomore season. And then because he couldn't tackle Thurman thomas in the 90s. I like Peyton Manning but he'd still be ringless too if he would have faced a team the caliber of the '84 49ers.

dude you should never wish bad on people, its bad karma. Although i really cant help it when i think of the patriots or redsox . (on a side note the us government should nuke the new england area while the jets are visiting the pats) :D

hey it took him longer to break the record but he is going to break the td record for the simple fact that he never got hurt. this is kind of like winning a game, it doesnt matter how ugly it was, only that you got the W. I hope he gets taken out of the lineup by his coach so he cant do it but i wouldnt wish him to get hurt...

That's complete BS. Brett keeps playing because he's a competitor. He loves the game. Aaron Rogers can only benefit when he gets the nod. Farve deserves to go out on his own terms. He been a great player in the league and still better than half the qbs starting now.

I'm so glad your not a fan of a team I root for. I would be embarased. Another tool that takes football too seriously.

Records are made to be broken. And by the way, the reason for Aaron Rodgers development is slowed is Aaron Rodgers, not Farve.
 
its sad for dan the man....left the game with no superbowl rings and all he had left is those records....now they are possibly to be broken and he will have nothing left. i only feel bad for him.
 
Doesn't really matter if he does break both. Peyton Manning will own both of those records before he is done. Peyton will go down as the greatest quarterback in NFL history. Dan will go down as the greatest qb to never win a Super Bowl. And Farve will go down as the dude that stuck around three years too long.
