Feeley-No Talent on 'Phins "O"

Feeley's a west-coast-offense QB who had no chance here at the time with Wanny and his crappy coaching staff. Foerster as our OC? Please. Although Foerster was better than Kippy Brown. Ugh.

But enough of the past. I was one of the first here to say AJ had to go because he had ABSOLUTELY no future here under the new Saban administration. I'm glad he's gone and we have someone who has a chance like Lemon.

San Diego runs a version of the west coast offense which is better suited for him. It's a better situation for him. He says all the right things and is showing he's a team player. He handled himself with class last year with us and I wish him the best

Why do people insist on ignorantly stating that we paid a 6th to get rid of Feeley when we could have cut him outright for free?

We paid the 6th because both us and the Chargers liked Lemon better than Feeley.

:shakeno:

So what would we have given straight up for Lemon? Supposedly AJ was worth a 3rd(although we paid a second), so a 6th plus a 3rd equals what? A 2nd? A high third? Heck, would we have realistically given a 4th or 5th for this undrafted, essentially practice squad player? My point was that Feeley was worth less than Lemon straight up, and did in fact cost us a sixth round pick to make up the difference. So Feeley plus a sixth round pick is worth a guy that will have to fight to keep his 3rd string job.

:shakeno: , yourself.

The way I read it Feeley is saying he would rather take less money to stay in SD where there is talent on offense then become a FA and end up god knows where. I don't think he was referring to Miami at all.

If I am not mistaken, the Chargers do not run a WCO, Cam Cameron their OC, runs a Coryell variant.

The way I read it Feeley would rather take less money to stay in the nfl! Holding a clipboard is still more lucrative than anything else he could do.

Blah,blah,blah... the guy cost us a 6th rnd pick to get rid of in trade for an undrafted 3rd stringer, he just took less money to be able to remain the chargers' 3rd stringer. He took no snaps last year. Talk about Mr. Insignificant. AJ who?

If we didnt trade for AJ we would have had an extra 2nd round pick for Saban in last years draft :o

This is for you finfan54
How can you blame one guy for wanny's mess.
Feely did the job in Philly but what he came into in Miami was the total opposite of a good org. its too bad Spielman wasted that pick.

wow talk about making an issue out of nothing. If you say you love your dad does not mean you called your mom a *****?

like aj or not, the kid has tons of heart and passion. i liked aj . he was just trying to do it all, and wound up throwing picks....to the other team.....for touchdowns.

While he didn't EXACTLY say that, read his quotes from this story:

http://www.chargers.com/news/headline_detail.cfm?news_key=2550

Me thinks he may be the one without talent. Oh yeah A.J., let's see which team is more talented next year.

Even last year, I believe our combined Skills players were as good, if not better than the Chargers....

Wow, he said no such thing.

My impression was their passing game was more horizontal than vertical with alot of crossing routes. Coryell's was more of a vertical game. Maybe I'm wrong on this one.

There are alot of variations on the Coryell, but yes it is usually a vertical passing offense with alot of intermediate and deep passing, usually combined with a power running game. Not all are as extreme as say Martz. Gibbs, Saunders, Turner, Vermeil, Henning, and Cameron all have Coryell backgrounds and run variations of the system. Cameron probably just runs a more conservative variation, but maybe I am wrong. Though Brees does not have the arm strength to qb a vertical passing offense either.

Yeah, that's my bad. I usually label a crossing and horizontal offense west coast when in this case you're probably right. It's probably a super conservative variation of the Coryell system best suited for the weak armed Brees. Cameron was with Turner and they all come from that school
