Poll: Feeley's better than Gus or Saban's an Idiot

The consensus in this forum seems to be that Saban is a genius who always makes the perfect decision, and that AJ Feeley sucks.

If Saban names AJ the starter what does it prove?

Feeley is not better then gus, and has not done anything to prove his is better then gus. I don't care how he got there, when he got there, he still went to the pro bowl. When QB's like Ben Roethlisberger go 13 straight wins, or more, throw only 11 int's, and not go to the probowl, it shows you just how hard it is to make it. Yes, QB's do have a downside on their career, but Frerotte is not old, and he has done more in the league. Feeley has not done anything, YET.

Getting to your last straws huh?

It proves that he will pick the guy that his OC feels most comfortable with starting game 1 of the season.

I for one never said anybody was perfect, no one is.

There is a big difference between trusting in Saban right now versus saying he is perfect.

Until Saban gives me good reason to doubt him I will support his decisions, whichever quarterback he feels is best suited to lead this team is good enough for me right now, as I'm not sure we even have a bonafide NFL starter on this team.

If he doesn't see enough in the abilities of AJ or Gus to start one or the other I can only assume that thru film, practice, training camp and the pre-season he has a conviction and has made a decision.

Right now, thats good enough for me.

Saban will make an informed decision through discussions with his offensive coaching staff, key offensive players and looking at film over and over and over again...I'm sure he also watched last year's film of AJ throwing picks for TD's a lot too, which is not helping AJ this preseason...

I think that qualifies him as the best person to make that decision and I will not question it.

I wouldn't presume to put words in your mouth. Obviously no one is perfect. Your response begs the question. Do you think Feeley sucks? Or rather, if we can agree that no one is perfect, can we agree that no QB who can make it all the way to the NFL sucks?

The remainder of your response was very intelligent and thoughtful. I am directing this question to those who consider Saban infallible, and they also think Feeley sucks. That Feeley is still on the roster disproves at least one of these. If he starts can these absolutists possibly cope?

You can be a good High school player and suck in college, you can be a good college player and suck in the NFL...its semantics.

I am not real excited about any of our quarterbacks from what I've seen so far, certainly the play of the team around the QB can effect his ability to execute, but there are certainly aspects of each of our quarterbacks abilities that lead me to doubt them all as the long term solution here, I hope I'm wrong.

I think Feeley deserves one more start to disprove that he doesnt deserve to start. I think that he has gotten some bad luck this preseason with the Urlacer hit, also though I understand why Saban thinks it best to name Gus the starting QB, because Feeley hasn't taken that away from him. If they both have about the same skill level then you have to go with experience and lets face it Feeley doesnt have any and isnt going to gain any until he set himself apart.

Feeley isn't a lost cause he just has some work to do with learning the playbook and looking off recievers. I feel is the role was reversed that Feeley played for Linehan he would be starting based on his knowlage of the offense.
