Dude, with respect, your entitled to your opinion, but I'll have to disagree with you on Montana-esque. There is no way you or anyone can compare Feidler to Montana. I can appreciate your enthusiasm for Feidler, as I to, can appreciate it when he has a good game. But thats all it was, a GOOD game. He did what he was supposed to do, just like anyone else on the team. This game was won by solid trench play on both sides of the ball and ball control by running the ball, even with the Patsy's playing the run. We minimized turnovers by choosing to run the ball and NOT throwing the ball except when we had to.We held the ball for 40 mins, thus keeping the ball out of Brady's hands, where he can beat us. Feidler did have a nice game with his decisions and substaning drives on third down, but again comparing him to Montana is a little over-kill, don't ya think?

I think we will be just fine with Feidler as long as we don't get into an offensive shoot-out like we had with the Chiefs. I'm looking forward to a good game in Denver and think we have a good shot at beating the Bronco's.

im glad every one is pumped up over Jays performance, but this is what he does gets us all worked up then hell come out and do what he does best try to force a ball in somewhere when he knows his arm is average at best or hell just not see a defender and get picked. Hopefully i'll be wrong and he has gotten by that. Wait a minute now im doing it, hell no Jay will let us down again soon.

Dont misunderstand me, SWS. Im not comparing Fiedler the Player to Montana the Player. However, that paritcular play was a page out of Montana's book. Fiedler made soemthing out of nothing and broke the Pats hearts all by himself. It was a truly clutch play.

Anyway, dont focus on half of one sentence and with that change the general point of my post. The TD was all Jay. Thats my point. I cant believe out of all that I wrote, thats what you took from my post....

i couldn't agree with you more. some of us still hang at the other place, and i just wrote pretty much the same thing this morning. i think the dolphins could win the superbowl, feidler makes the MVP and there would still be people doubting him, and bashing him all over the place. i just don't know what's up with that.

and i agree, i think he was a big factor in yesterday's victory. i mean he made 3 third and long plays into a touchdown, one (the one you're talking about) all by himself (with the help of a couple of pats defenders taking each other out). but he looked good in all the wins so far this year, and only looked bad in one loss, and still everyone calls for his head.

i just think, sometimes, these people aren't happy, unless they're complaining. go figure?

next up the broncos at home. i hope the team doesn't get to up over this victory, and turns their focus to the broncos in denver. a tough game for sure, but winable, if the team plays well, stays focused, and doesn't make mistakes.

we had the greatest gunslinger there was (and there may be)....but what has he won..nadda,,,he has personal records and thats about it.

He was missing a running game and a good D at the same time. We have that now. The "Jay-ers" (combination of Jay and nay-sayers) are now saying "oh but without ricky"....well duh...isn't that the reason why you want a running game...to be more effective....to be harder to be calculated?

If Dan would have had a resemblence of a running game he too would have become "a game manager". Thats what a running game does to you. You run, you pass and you avoid turnovers....

If Dan would have had a running game he would not hold any of his records...period....but he would have a handful of rings....

Dan is one of the biggest Dolphins homers and he says it repeatly on his shows "you need to run the ball and all you need is a "game manager" at QB."

What the "jay-sers" see is: Fiedler followed Marino so he should be as good as Marino. Have you all forgotten how hard it was for Buffalo to replace a legend (Kelly).

If Fiedler would have followed a Harbough or George or an O'Brian we all would say "finally we got a QB".

It's time to lay to rest the "legend". Let him rest in peace and let him be a Dolfan.

BTW, even before yesterday's game I haven't heard a bad word about Fiedler in my block, on the concourses, at the tailgating or at sportstown....and more and more Fiedler jerseys pop up.
 
Right on CMAX. Keep in mind, if someone like Favre makes that same gutsy 8 yard TD run on 3rd down against his fierce division rival, fans and media call it yet another "signature play" of why hes so great. Well, Jay continues to make the plays, only without the recognition and glory. As I said in another post, not everyone has to be the hero on this team. Some guys need to play big without receiving the credit. If Jay has to be one of those guys, so be it.
 
Fiedler is no Montana, who is? But

... Fiedler's game was Monta-esque. Short accurate throws, making plays with his feet, and throwing a few deep balls. Again Fiedler is no Montana, but he plays a lot like he did. Fiedler is a copy of Montana, Garcia and Gannon. All a lil better than AVG armed QB's that are smart who are mobile.

Lets break it down a bit further Oliver- in 20 quarters of play this season, Jay has had exactly ONE bad quarter - that ominous fourth quarter last week at Arrowhead. Otherwise, hes been golden.

and I am glad you did. To me, this has nothing to do with Marino and the legend he was as the Dolphins "Field General", but more to do with Jay as our "game manager". I do think Jay is a journeyman QB, but I do not mean it as a slam. Jay has a role, just like anyone else. He is a good QB, but to me not a GREAT QB. When he has a day, like yesterday, I think he deserves a pat on the back and a "nice job". Jay did what he is supposed to do, he threw a couple of TDs, ran for one, and didn't turn the ball over. He played within his limits and we won the game.
I don't think there is anything wrong with being a journeyman QB in this league, especially when you are surrounded with some talent. I think games are won in the NFL, by teams that PLAY as a TEAM. Jay is definately a team player and that is why we win with Jay as our QB.

Well at least you finally said he's good...

... but journeyman QB is not a compliment, that's for sure. I think to most ppl that means a QB sucks.

Take away the San Fran game last year, and the KC fourth quarter this year,(two games where the "TEAM" was getting their collective asses handed to them) and Jay has accounted for 23 TD's against........ 2 interceptions!!!....and for those of you that feel the need to be completely accurate (;) ) that's 23 TDs to 9 interceptions........That takes the numbers from, "HOF" to merely, "extremely good" but there are teams in this league that would kill for that production..... and we got people going "yeah....he's alright....when he has a good team around him"......well I got one thing to say..........NO SH*T!
 
BTW ... the excerpt Chris Berman hums from "Fiddler on the Roof" during Fielder highlights is "Tradition."

just not a GREAT QB. As for my definition of journeyman, I meant it to reflect much like someone would in the trades industry. Someone who is much better than a helper ( rookie), but not at the master level (Marino, Elway, Kelly, etc). Believe me, if a player or coach sucks, I'm not going to try and sugar coat it. :lol:
