Fiedler Top Backup?

I'm not sure. I think that Feeley and Ferotte are both pretty good backups.

Fiedler is the kind of quarterback you want as a backup, he's solid, fairly reliable, and doesnt make many mistakes. But I still would rather have Garcia or Rivers over him.

Doesn't make many mistakes?! I would think he threw more touchdowns to the defense than his own guys. The Jests will be in serious trouble if he actually has to play for them. Another Finfan said it best a while ago..........The jests favorite saying will be the same as ours has been..............Aww Godamnit Fiedler!!!!

Jon Kitna is a damn good back up for the Bengals....I'd love it if he were a Dolphin!

Agreed... Kitna is the best backup in the league... was doin a great job before Palmer came in. Then I would say Billy Volek is the 2nd best... But Fiedler is definatly a good backup for any team... (did I just write "Fiedler" and "good" in the same sentence??? :smackhead )

Nasty

How about 66 int's and 28 fumbles (12 lost) in 75 games!!! That's an average of just over 1 MAJOR mistake per game. But really, I'm not bitter about Jay's stay as a Dolphin... really I'm not, I swear.:fire:

Kitna by far! Holcombe a distant second but Fiedler is a very good backup to have. Notice how all these guys have started in recent years.

Oh! And Trent Dilfer too, though he's a starter right now.

i would take rivers as my #1 and then kitna . but put fiedler as my #1 backup :shakeno: , not on my team.

 Classic

Remember how successful Lucas and Griese were/are before they played in our system. Jay outperformed them by a longshot...lets see what he can do in a real system before we hope he starts for the Jets. I for one do not...at all...want to see Jay come in and enact his revenge against us. I think he could be extremely effective in a good system such as theirs. Remember his weakness is the long ball, we never gave him the chance to throw those 10-20 yarders that he is actually extremely good at.

no, he was not extremely good at the 10-20 yarders. He had his moments, but for the most part those 10-20 yd passes required the receiver to stop, jump, or dive to make the catch. He wasnt AS inaccurate on the short passes as the deep ones, but he was still inaccurate.
