File under "pot calls kettle black"

That was another great article by Dan. I like the way he clears the air on this, since many fans where a little upset by what they thought he said. Even on here there was a post about JJ "ripping" the team. Many people who were mad, did not even hear the radio show in question. Dan asked him some tough questions trying to get him to criticize Wanny, but he didn't. He just said what he would have not done by trading the picks and whatnot. And while you may call it the pot calling the kettle black, LeBetard does acknowledge that all journalists make mistakes, including himself. Nevertheless, another good article.

This was a great article. Basically, he's righting someone else's wrong. I cannot see how you could possibly bash the guy for this.

And lose the gay slurring thing ATX. This isn't the time or place to express those views. That goes for everyone else too. I'm tired of seeing it.

Carry on.

Yeah, I actually agree...This was a good article by LeRetard cause I heard the whole interview on 790 and JJ REALLY didn't say anything negative about the team and Wannstedt. Dan Le Batard has all the right in the world to write this one and set things straight cause it was on HIS radio show with HIM asking JJ the questions. IT was really irresponsible for whoever started those JJrips the dolphins rumors. That's just an angry fan/writer trying to manipulate the way only the media can.

I knew what this thread was about just from the headline.

Yes, it is a good article, and LeBetard has done the honorable thing by using his space to target poor reporting.

But I also think I can appreciate a little bit where DolfanDave is coming from, for it seems a bit ironic to hear LeBetard speaking of mistruths being created by a removal of statements from context -- when LeBetard shared what he deemed as truths regarding Ricky's retirement which were colored by the context of their friendship.

:whew:

LeBetard-bashing seems to be a routine thing among many Dol-fans. It is unfortunate, because aside from "Ricky-Gate", his opinion columns are among the best of the national newspapers.

Whether knowingly or not, LeBetard's accurate article supports the feelings of fans who despise him. He basically says the media often gets it wrong, and it's no wonder that they are somethimes hated. Yeah, Dan, kind of like the time you gave all these high minded, ridiculous reasons your friend retired. That proved to be total BS as well. Surely, he realizes this, and the article was intended to be slightly ironic.

Those "high-minded, ridiculous" reasons, were given to him by Ricky himself. If that nutcase changed his mind about why he retired the next day, that's not Dan's fault. While I agree he deserves to be criticized a little for his objectivity on the Ricky issue, this article has nothing to do with that. I'm pretty sure he's moved on from that and maybe we should as well.

ooh...that's true though...he did make all these BS excused for Ricky. Tried to make is seem like he's all good and the DOlphins are the bad guys.

We can only hope.

Its time we at least got off the we hate Dan bandwagon, given the current position with the team we pretty much are putting the wagons in a circle and defending oursleves against the entire media not just dan.

I guess it really smarts that people/ press / media write us off and we are generally a joke right now but hey its only a game and these things go in cycles, we will be great again of this I have no doubt.

Its an opinon / interpretation / understanding call it what you want , but im sure that everyone is entitled to have one.

Not Dan's fault? He reported the story, so it's on his watch. According to your reasoning, a reporter is not responsible for his source. Hardly. I, for one despise hypocrisy, and that is what this latest article exemplifies in my opinion.

You probably are aslo upset at Salsbury, theissman, and all the others who have been smacktalking about the Fins this year. Your emotional state can't let you see that this article has nothing to do with Ricky. he's correcting something that happened on HIS radio show. It would be irresponsible if he didn't. Get over the Ricky thing already.

This article inparticular is nothing more than LeBatard correcting the incorrect and misleading info. WHoever wrote the article of JJ rips Fins, is giving false information...JJ was on LeBatard's radio show and I along with thousands more heard what was actually said..I heard the entire interview! Yet that's not what was written by other media. SO Dan had to come out and correct it! Nothing more! WHere's the hypocrisy??
