How the roster stands and wanting to win 2014, while also having 2015 in mind, based on CBS rankings - http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/prospectrankings/2014/all

How would you fill out the roster in the upcoming draft?

Rules are:-

a)In round 1 you can only pick from #19 on,
b)In subsequent rounds you cant pick players likely to go early in round. For example players projected round 1-2 cant be chosen in 2nd round etc,
c)Try to consider scheme fit i.e. ZBS, Philbin seeming to want bigger slot receivers, 4-3 D etc,
d)No trades.

Mine goes:-

1 - OT Cyrus Kouandijio - Lot more players I like but have to get a RT for 2014 and I prefer him over Morgan Moses.
2 - RB Carlos Hyde - Dropped due to combine and will fix short yardage issues.
3 - WR Jarvis Landry - Good route runner, Football player who has fallen due to combine.
4 - DT Anthony Johnson - Boom or Bust. After 3rd im willing to take risk on players with potential
5 - OT Seantrel Henderson - see above. Boom or Bust
6 - OG Brandon Thomas - would be higher if not for injury and projects well inside in a ZBS
7 - TE Colt Lyerla - Boom or bust. See 4 & 5

Your risk/reward is high on almost every player. CK has a knee issue, does Hyde have enough burst for the pros, and all the rest you mentioned. That's a draft that could be absolutely huge, or a crusher. I don't see this first year front office doing that. I'd say the first 4 picks will all be guaranteed contributors, perhaps the last 3 risky based on upside. FWIW I love Lyerla in the 7th.

My first mock 1.0

Draft picks:
1. Cook - WR (or Mosely)
2. Carlos Hyde - RB
3. Chris Borland - ILB
4. Jon Halapio - OG
5. Chris Watt - OG
6. Sentreal Henderson - OT
7. Justin Britt - OT

I am sticking with it.

I like what I have for My signature>>>>

C. J Mosley(LB): This is the type of defensive players that will make a good defense elite from the moment he steps on the field...as long as he is healthy (The big IF).

Joel Bitonio(T/G): No player has been moving up on teams boards quicker then this guy, but I really don't think he will reach the middle of the 2nd, let alone 1st. He can play R-tackle from the get go, or even guard.... he might even be able to play L-tackle after Albert is done.

C. J. Fiedorowicz(TE): This guy might not be the homerun TE some want here, but he does have soft hand, can help moving the chains, and when in the redzone, he is a big target....oh and he is also one of the best blocking TEs in this years group.

Dakota Dozier (T/G): This guy impressed in the Senior bowl, and could be a very good guard.

Daniel McCullers(DT): Huge monster that even though is very inexperienced, can be a force. He will never be able to get much of a passrush from the middle, but against the run, he will fill in perfectly for the departed Soliai.

Marqueston Huff(S/CB): Has played Corner and then was moved to Safety, but at the Senior Bowl, the way he was able to blanket most of the receivers he faced, many are saying he could be a quality starter at corner eventually in the NFL.

Jay Prosch(FB): Even though most teams don't use the FB position much anymore (Including Miami), this guy has great hands coming out of the backfield, can lead block, and is a very consistent power back for short yardage, which Miami failed quite a bit last year when they needed to convert a 3rd and 2 or less.

Staying within the rules i'd go with this:

1st Round: Timmy Jernigan (DT)

2nd Round: Jawuan James(T)

3rd Round: Ka'Deem Carey (HB)

4th Round: Christian Jones (ILB)

5th Round: Jake Murphy (TE)

6th Round: Russell Bodine (OG)

7th Round: Cody Hoffman (WR)

Sorry to say but Henderson is gone no later than the 4th. His size and athletics make any GM and scout salivate. Only takes 1 team to say "We can fix him up" and he's gone.

Don't see Fins taking a RB before round 4 due to signing of Moreno. Interesting late round pick up in my book is Storm Johnson out of UCF.

I don't think Thomas drops past 5th round because of his knee injury. Teams will gladly pick him up and just stash him away for a year on IR ala Willis McGahee.

Colt is a interesting prospect. He would be considered top 3 TE in the draft if he had more recent tape and did not have the off field drama. Guy is a beast but will he clean up his act? Could be the steal of the draft.

I do agree

With first pick CK would have to pass medical otherwise I would select Morgan Moses. CK though reminds me of Menelik Watson in last years draft. Considered to be athletic for his size and a top 10 pick on tape, but then hits the combine and drops a full round. Watson played well before injury last year and CK has far more upside.

Also feel it's pretty simular to Keenan Allen last year too. I remember many feeling at the end of 2014 season that Allen would not drop to us at #10. Then a few rumours of injury concerns and slow 40 resulted in him dropping too.

IMO CK on tape is worthy if the 19th pick if he checks out medically.
