Also keep in mind that PFF rates C. Williams as the #1 Center. (Williams, C 85.9 1st of 39)If we have our LT and RT of the future and keep Wynn and Hunt, we are set for a long time. Keep Armstead and Lamm as backup tackles, and Jones, Eich, and Cotton as backup guards and center... damn. Could we actually enter a season with 10 OL remaining from the season before? For almost 20 years it has been a revolving door......
Agreed. It would be awesome to finally fix the OL and actually be able to make tweaks for improvements rather that overhaul it every season. Also keep in mind that PFF rates C. Williams as the #1 Center. (Williams, C 85.9 1st of 39)
Minus his early season bad snaps, he's fixed that problem and been helping to anchor the interrior of the line.
I absolutely love having him play under Tua. Back at Dallas he was a MONSTER and it was only his penalty problems that needed to improve on, and he's done that by leaps and bounds.
Connor Williams is getting a contract offer as soon as season ends if I where gm.If we have our LT and RT of the future and keep Wynn and Hunt, we are set for a long time. Why wouldn’t you want Lamm as a LT? Hes done a great job and could only get betterWith Smith looking respectable two weeks in row, I really wish we were cross-training Lamm to step in at LG. Who knows, maybe we are doing that. I’m sure it’s a tough ask during the season, and maybe Lamm isn’t cut out for it. It would be nice if, in a pinch, we could have Lamm, Williams, and Eich on the interior (vs. Cotton).
I’m just talking about in injury-crisis scenarios, where Armstead and Hunt are out. If Smith can handle LT in a pinch (which he has two weeks in a row), cross-training Lamm at LG allows you to get better players across the 5 spots. I have no issue at all with Lamm at LT. He’s been fantastic. On the other hand, I don’t particularly like Cotton at LG.Why wouldn’t you want Lamm as a LT? Hes done a great job and could only get better
He blocking is near superior and great footwork
LT’s don’t grow on trees and we need one

Maybe Robert Jones will finally get back on the field and make this a moot point. You see him practicing every week on Hard Knocks. He has to be close to 100%.
Aw, man! Now my too excited balloon is deflatedThe commanders traded away both their stud ends in Chase young and montez sweat I wouldnt get too excited about this.
Armstead makes too much to be a backup. I think there's a 60 to 70 % chance he retires after this season due to frustration with the injuries. I could see him retiring and hen if Miami or some other team goes through injuries in 2024 he might think about unretiring in November or December depending on how he feels at that time.If we have our LT and RT of the future and keep Wynn and Hunt, we are set for a long time. I think he retiring would be just as painful to the cap as us cutting him. To my limited understanding, all dead money hits right then and there.Armstead makes too much to be a backup. I think there's a 60 to 70 % chance he retires after this season due to frustration with the injuries.
If I recall correctly, Lamm said he doesn’t see himself as a guard and is only interested in playing tackle. I’d like to believe that’s more his way of saying he‘s a terrible guard (I have no clue if he is or isn't) than it is him refusing to help the team. With Smith looking respectable two weeks in row, I really wish we were cross-training Lamm to step in at LG.
