fin fans in cleveland?

are there any members from cleveland? im driving down for the game with my girlfriend and was wondering what its like at a browns game for visiting fans. ive been to alot of bills games and been fine everytime she on the other hand is woried. thanks for any help i can get

It depends on where you are sitting, if for some ungodly reason you are anywhere near the dogpound DON"T wear your gear... My Company has club seats so I am pretty safe there (Very small section and Generally surrounded by visiting team fans). Last time I went was when the fins got shut out, it was a crappy game, but there wasn't an issue. I have been in the dogpound in the old stadium and it wasn't fun (because we were winning).

I will say this though, Browns fans are more intense than Bills fans (I too have never had a bad day in Buffalo) so I would be careful, and make sure your girlfriend has thick skin if you are surrounded.

I used to work at the stadium as a fundraiser and I can say the fans in cleveland are pretty rowdy. Generally fights break out at steelers and ravens games but they do happen. If your going with your gf you shouldn't have a problem if you just ignore whatever the idiot browns fans say. from my experience trouble only starts when the opposing fans are male and they are overly loud and drunk.

What section are you going to be in I will also be at the game?

Thanks guys. I purposely bought in the family zone I figured at least during the game it should be tamer. Any good places to eat around the stadium or in?

I went to a Phins-Browns game once. Definitely do not sit in the dog pound. Also watch where you tailgate. I forget the name of the parking lot but as my friend and I were walking to it we asked a Browns fan for directions. After he gave them to us he noticed the phins jerseys and was like "you guys aren't going over there are you?" Good thing cause afterwards we walked past it and it looked like a war zone! I got into the only fight of my life in the stadium. The guy was really drunk though. The security guard saw the whole thing and only kicked him out. All the other fans were very cool and did not want us thinking all the fans were like that. All in all it was a fun experience.

I sat in the DogPound with Fins gear on last time the Fins came to Cleveland. They were fine until they got drunk (halftime). At least one fight broke out in the area with a Fin Fan handled the drunk Brown fan pretty easily. They are a pretty rude bunch. I am taking my 9 year old son this time with Fins gear on (both of us). Probably not a smart move on my part.

is that where your sitting this year? Any good places to eat around or at the stadium, do you recommend anything at the stadium

Not in the dogpound with a 9 year old. I cant risk that. We are on the Dolphins side, 10 yardline about 20 rows up near the locker room tunnel. We are tailgating with Clevelanders pregame.

Browns fans? Well, I was at the game when Dan ruptured his achilles and the place 'erupted'....in cheers.

Then Scott Mitchell came in and torched them. I remember it like it was yesterday.

This game is early so, it’s kind of hard to say. The last 2 were later and the Browns were tanking or had already tanked. But they beat the Phins both times. If the Browns are going in 0-2 and the Phins might be right there with them, the crowd will be rowdier than usual. Nothing like a Sti’lers or Ravens game though.

Stay as far away from the Dog Pound as you can get. You should be safe in the Muni lots for tailgating. I was nomading it for the last game and most fans took at least 1 beer to realize I was a Phins fan. Police presence is heavy everywhere on gamedays but wear a lot of orange if you can.

If that’s not your bag, check out any of the bars on W 6th St. or around the Q. Most have good game-day specials and the Hard Rock’s brunch buffet is outstanding.

Check out my postings over on the tailgate boards.

Wear orange? Is that cause they also wear orange. Also were in the stadium is considered the visiting side

We live in Kentucky and I am a huge Miami fan. We went to Cleveland maybe 3-4 years ago and it was awful. The fans are bad. The girl (who was a Cleveland fan) got mad cause my girlfriend was cheering and started a fight with her and I got spit on as security was on their way up to throw US out of the game. The game only had a minute left and we lost, but Cleveland sucks.

Right. Most idiots looking for trouble aren't looking for orange. There really is no visitors side.

There is always a 'visitors side'. It is the side that the visiting team is on. (Unless they are both on the same sideline, which have never seen.) Of course, that doesnt mean there will be a lot of visiting fans on that side.

To be honest I'm not worried really. I've been to many a game and find if you mind your business and don't over celebrate you should be allright
