Motivation has been restored. Finally, some incentive to continue the season. At last, some enticement to play the remaining games on the schedule.
The Dolphins' win last week against the Chicago Bears has renewed hope in the minds of many on the roster heading into Sunday's home game against Kansas City.
But for several others, that motivation never left. And the reason might not be what many fans might think. Twenty-one players on the roster -- or 40 percent -- will have their contracts expire after the season.
''There's always something to play for,'' defensive tackle Vonnie Holliday said. ``A lot of people don't know the intimate details of an NFL player's life, so it's difficult to understand all of the reasons to be motivated.''
